I also like that she’s older. Only a couple years, it’s really not a big deal, but I think there’s still a bit of stigma around the woman being older in a relationship, especially when you know as soon as they’re married the next Q from everyone will be “BAAAAABIIEEEEES??????”

Fair - I guess it depends how long your visit is. I was thinking a week at least, but if you’re literally just doing a day or two then day passes are definitely a better deal. Keep in mind that TTC is still planning to phase out tokens in 2018.

Oh god... Why would you want that to be our culinary reputation???

You inspired me... Come As You Are had a black Friday sale so I bought two attachments. My therapist keeps telling me to try new things so this is a good start.

Depends how much travel you’re going to do. If you’ll use the TTC more than four times then a day pass is worth it, but if you’re just going there and back then Presto is better, plus they’re likely to introduce the two-hours travel before next summer. The card is only $6 and in my opinion is worth it for the

Get a Presto card for the transit system. It’s the easiest way to get around and it’s totally worth it for not having to juggle coins etc. People in Toronto think the transit is rubbish, but mostly I think because they haven’t experienced many other systems. In general it’s efficient and effective. Stay near a subway

I’m always surprised when people talk about Torontonians being rude or unfriendly. I agree with everything you said and would add that when you live in a city you’re not super outgoing and friendly to everyone because you’re busy! I have stuff to do! But if you start a conversation then I’ll definitely engage.

And some specific spots that I personally love (I’m not the biggest foodie so I’m sure others will have newer suggestions, but these are places where I specifically have had a good experience):

Toronto is all about the neighbourhoods. The “sites” aren’t necessarily numerous (although I highly recommend both the museum and the aquarium if you need a couple indoor/family activity type stops).

Until I was about 8 my grandparents only owned six VHS tapes - the Star Wars trilogy, and the Indiana Jones trilogy. Memory tells me we weren’t allowed to watch Indiana Jones 2 because it was too graphic but that seems a bit arbitrary in hindsight, but we watch all the other five on repeat any time we had more than an

My magic wand gets so much play. I was wary of spending that much, but if we were calculating “price per use” I’d be well ahead on that deal.

Can I expect an accompanying list of gift ideas for your father’s new inappropriately-young wife? She already has a selfie stick and approximately 4 million bikinis so I’m all out of ideas.

I’m unnecessarily excited about this. I don’t even know why I’m so attached to them as a couple/family but they seem delightful and I’m glad they are making new humans who will hopefully also be great.

Haha, Fork York is funny, but Hot House is correct. It’s an Italian restaurant on Front Street - the kind of place you take your in laws because they don’t like trying new things and you refuse to eat at Swiss Chalet.

Fantastic beards and where to find them... I thought that was about Dumbledore’s college girlfriend?

Mazel Tov!

I had not seen these before but it is great. Yes to Brie Larson’s face.

To be fair I frequently don’t go. But I think this goes the other way as well - why have a wedding if you don’t throw a party that people will enjoy? Not saying it needs to be top shelf open bar, but if I’d have a better time at home with a $11 bottle of wine and Netflix then you’ve planned it wrong.

Disagree. I don’t care about anyone’s wedding, not even my own. I’m old enough that I’m not looking to get plastered at your reception, but if I’m going to spend my Saturday night making small talk with your family and dancing to the most insipid DJ you could find then there better be a bottle of wine with my name on

I’m not really familiar with Hennessy as an alcohol so I like it. I like last names for first names.
