It’s definitely weird, but at least as an adult I don’t encounter toys on a day to day.

I have a legitimate phobia of stuffed animals. I’m gonna go ahead and vote “no” to ventriloquists making a pop culture comeback.
It might depend on the company. Lots of the male mid-level managers at my company have full sleeves and one has hand tattoos. He works with construction managers so maybe it works because it’s a bit less corporate? He and his team are very successful (top billers etc.). That said, he got the hand tattoo after he’d…
My mum said this to me when I got my first. “What about when you’re old?!?”
I’ve waited at least a year between idea and getting the tattoo for each of mine, and in both cases they percolated for a long time before that as well. That would probably be my main advice to people who want tattoos. Take your time. It will be there forever so who cares if you wait another six months to get it?
Yeah, I have a few tattoos and one of my hesitations on committing to a full sleeve is knowledge of the healing process and the care required to maintain them. I love the tattoos I have, and I love a well-executed sleeve, but I’m not sure it’s right for me. I think everyone would be well advised to a) see a four day…
Right? My boyfriend has twice been giving food with drugs in it without being told and I do not think it’s funny. Once it was his ex-girlfriend’s parents who thought it would be hilarious :| Another time he was hungry during a road trip (he wasn’t driving) and his friend said “Oh have a couple brownies” not mentioning…
Haha, Linjerry took me a minute. And it’s been ages since I had a good massidge.
Ugh. No. Do you pay a mortgazh? Put a sausazh in the garbazh? Then stop trying to make garazh happen. You can put the sausage in the garbage (although, actually, we would say rubbish) in the garage then go pay your mortgage. I’ve lived in Canada for 6 years and I have adapted a lot but I will never NEVER change how I…
I imagine there’s a big difference between urban/suburban/rural on this. I grew up in the city and didn’t get my license until I was 22 (I’m 31 now). I took the bus a lot, and I was walking distance to my high school (and then university), job, and most of my friends. A couple friends had their license and a car…
I really wanted La Llorona vs Baba Yaga, but then I don’t know who I’d vote for so Sirens winning this round is a point for Baba Yaga next time.
I first read this as Jon Lovitz and was... confused. (I didn’t know about them but it makes me happy. I just want all the Farrows to be happy and healthy and loved.)
Love these ideas. My #1 go to is a voucher for food delivery. Every location has a pizza place that delivers, and some food delivery services do gift cards. In Canada I often do Swiss Chalet. Not just for new parents - if someone is stressed, sick, or grieving, giving them the gift of “Just have someone show up at…
This book has been written. It’s called Beauty Queens, by Libba Bray and it’s hilarious. YMMV - it’s very unsubtle satire a la early Ben Elton, which I really enjoyed, but it’s not to everyone’s comedy taste.
I moved to Toronto from New Zealand and was shocked by how racist it is here - and NZ is not a paradise of racial equality by any stretch, but Canada is definitely worse. There’s a very “us and them” attitude where “us” is always white people.
I hate how defensive people get about being called out on racist shit. If someone says you’re racist (or did a racist thing) the correct response is “Oh shit, I’m so sorry, how do I fix it?” not “No that’s not racist because I can’t be racist because racism is bad and I’m a good person.”
Anxiety levels are going up and have been for decades, due to a lot of factors that you can google if you are curious about. But I don’t think most people with anxiety are “running away” from anything - we’re just facing a steeper climb than others so we get there slower or need longer breaks.
I grew up in New Zealand and we all had them. I was shocked when I moved to Canada and no one has heard of them! (Then I realized they all heat their homes to a million fucking degrees all winter so it’s like living in a kiln but instead of coming out as beautifully finished ceramics I just have a lot of nosebleeds…
Thank you for this gif(t). I needed it this morning.
Scrolled through the comments to make sure someone had posted this! I genuinely rewatch this a couple times a year. It just makes me really happy!
