I’m from NZ and watching Waititi’s international success (along with Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie) just makes me so happy.
I haven’t seen any of those either.... I confuse Dirty Dancing with that other 80s dancing movie... and that other other 80s dancing movie, only I think in that one she’s a stripper?
#1 reason I can’t work from home - two-thirds of the apartment could be(and would be) “nap rooms”.
Yeah, the crossovers are hugely offputting to me. I’m a casual comics fan and I tend to buy volumes instead of following monthly, so they can’t count on my money, but they certainly could get it with quality content. I would love to get more into some of the superhero world stuff but it’s really hard to figure out…
I started going to the gym (I know) in the morning (I KNOW) and now I’m in bed at, like, 9.30. My mornings off I stay up “late”... 10.30! I don’t know who I’ve become and I can’t decide if I like it.
Yeah, I get why people would choose the raise. I think that more vacation would make me happier and more money would make me more comfortable. Which one I want more probably varies by mood and priorities.
They’ve proven that people take less leave if it’s unlimited because when you have three weeks you use three weeks, but when you have “unlimited” you take as much as you think you can comfortably, which is usually less.
I picked vacation because right now I would probably rather get two more weeks vacation than a 5% pay increase. Moving to North America sucks in terms of labour laws. Canadians compare themselves so favourably to the USA. If they looked just a tiny bit farther afield they would realize their labour laws are definitely…
I’m trying to talk my partner into combining our names into a pun. If you take parts of each of our names you get something like “loveless”. I think it’s hilarious... he’s not convinced.
I wonder how much this is already affecting states and they don’t know, at least at an individual level. I would never move to a state or country where I couldn’t get an abortion. Lots of people don’t have the options for mobility, but the people who do are the people who have money (I’m not rich, but I could move to…
The accompanying gif is amazing and I can’t believe you apologized for it.
She’s studying for her dogtorate.
No excuse needed.
I’m in Toronto so the states is an easy trip - I crossed the border four times between August 2015 and November 2016 but I don’t think I’ll go back in the next four years - maybe eight. Now we’re planning trips to Cuba and Europe for next year instead of New Orleans and California.
I have a friend who didn’t know that cooked broccoli is still meant to be green. She grew up eating a grey-green slush that was called broccoli and the first time she was served it elsewhere she didn’t know what it was.
In this one she’s a Japanese major, too. She just thinks it’s, like, a really beautiful language and culture.
Tres confused by your picture for a moment... I thought somehow I’d commented on this before I’d read it. Very time travelly of me.
Definitely! I kind of like looking forward and measuring my potentially-fertile life in IUDs. I was on the pill for 10 years so I’ll basically spend my entire adult life on some kind of hormonal birth control and I like that feeling of control.
