Yeah, the thing I think is interesting is the cognitive dissonance. I have family members who will talk about Canada as a leader in tolerance and peacekeeping in one breath, and complain about first nations and immigrants in the next.

Oh definitely - both countries are fucked up in very similar ways. It was more the direct comparison between the two PMs. Canada is super racist and sexist - I’ve been pretty surprised by the shit people have said since I moved back a few years ago.

I had my first pedicure this year and it was scary but awesome. They get all kinds of feet so it’s a no-judging space. Also the place I go they wear gloves which made me feel better about them touching my feet.

The best thing about calorie counting is the “Holy shit that’s HOW MANY calories??? I might as well have a donut!” aka me always somehow thinking that savoury snacks were “healthy” compared to sugary snacks. The conventional wisdom is that weightloss is 80% diet and maintenance is 80% exercise. I lost some weight by calorie counting, aka Most Boring Thing in the World, and now I’m trying to get more exercise into my routine to maintain it.

See, Poppy and Daisy are kind of twee, but I don’t hate them. Petal is sickly, Buddy sounds like a dog. But it’s when you add the middle names they get really dumb (full disclosure, I googled these): Poppy Honey Rosie, Daisy Boo (WTF???) Pamela, Petal Blossom Rainbow, Buddy Bear Maurice.
