It is a great horror book. It was the motivation for the development of the “If you put a pillow on top of it then it can’t get you” rule in my home/friend group.

Agreed. I cannot cope with even one unread message. More than 100...?

So I do drink, but not nearly as much as my colleagues, so my #1 tip is to order a soft drink at the bar with a lemon or lime, and don’t comment about it and most people assume you’re drinking a mixed drink. My preference is usually either tonic water or soda water. Then you can just be like “I don’t like beer” or “I

Haha - that’s what I said! “If it gets that mangled I’ll just cover it with something colourful and awesome.”

I’m getting a tattoo on my inner arm next month and my boyfriend asked “Are you worried about it stretching if you get bingo wings?” and I just don’t even know where to start with telling him why that question made me uncomfortable. Like... a) no and b) no and c) hell no and d) I’m going to feel shitty about my body

I was just thinking “I wish Retta was my friend.”

Oooooh me too - I thought it was because my work browser is out of date or something.

I had my 21st birthday party in the house from this movie - it’s the university staff club now.

I sunscreen all the fucking time because my Finnish ancestors angered the sun god millenia ago and we are cursed to hide from its fiery gaze. Whenever people make fun of me for it I say “Just wait until we’re both 50 and you’ll wish you’d followed my lead.”

Hmmm... maybe I will try this. I have tended towards spreading for better depth, but I’m all for trying new things.

I know what you mean about Gladwell, but I still enjoy a lot of his articles, especially his older stuff. What The Dog Saw is still one of my favourite collections.

There’s actually some pretty good science showing that not having periods/not ovulating has health benefits. They used to call ovarian cancer “nun’s disease” because it’s much more common in women who never have children. Going on the pill (or any BC that prevents ovulation) for two years reduces the risk of ovarian

Everytime this comes up I feel personally challenged to have sex while holding an aspirin between my knees. Would it be ideal/comfortable? No. Could you hypothetically get pregnant while keeping your knees locked together? Absolutely.

I had mine put in just over two months ago. I was told to finish out my pack of birth control pills so that was about two weeks. I had a full period when I stopped the pill, then spotting every day for about two weeks, then occasional (2-3 times a week) for another two weeks. I’ve had no spotting in the last week or

*High Five* Me too! I drank a bottle of wine and ate a whole pizza the day of insertion and was all better within, like, 48 hours.

Yay! I’ve had mine since April and it’s soooo gooood.... I’m pretty sure my sex drive is up, too.

We look forward to it. Gives us an opportunity to launch our much-touted strategy of passive-aggression.

I get what your saying, but I’m pretty sure he’s the diversity hire, even if he’s actually white. That kind of makes it funnier to me. Also, I definitely read their kid as mixed race when I watched the trailer. Watching it again it’s not actually that obvious but I feel like maybe they were intentionally ambiguous?

But that one white lady is married to that one not-white guy! And there’s a brown kid at the party! #diversity #token

Oh good, that’s a relief because I always do it. I feel like Kitchenette should be required reading for everyone who ever eats out. There could be a test at the end and you have to show your certificate before you can be seated.
