For personal, typically about once a day, during my lunch break at work. I will sometimes check it more frequently if I am expecting something important, which thankfully is not often. I have push notifications enabled on my phone, but I can generally ignore them until lunch arrives.

Indeed. I will keep this article in mind next time I am in my bathroom hanging a clock and hit my head on the sink.

Televisions & Other Electronics: You should see sales continue after Black Friday and through the holidays. Though if you can wait, February is probably a better time than now to buy that new TV.

I was able to skip my family's Thanksgiving celebration this year, and I DID NOT MISS having to battle the crowds to provide pop/soda for our celebration NOR did I miss watching my relatives piss and moan about the football game. I also volunteered to work so I didn't miss out on getting paid, because I am not as of

Yeah, neither do I. Although I did, surprisingly, pack a turkey sandwich for lunch today. Appropriate I suppose. Glad I won't have to worry about the hit to my paycheck after all by working today.

I get bad news all the time, and I am stuck in a state of perpetual bad news. My life has been less than stellar as a result. I can see where this might work for some people however.

It doesn't actually. Goths themselves seem to be better at recognizing that life isn't all roses and green grass and instead have opted for an 'Everyday is Halloween' sort of stance on life.

I posted this on Gizmodo and figured it would fit in here:

I also used to do it for fun, but I stopped when they started posting the IP addresses of unregistered users. I was also told by admins to cease my shenanigans.

Two for me are a Toaster and a Microwave.

I tried Saturdays, but the stores near me are even worse on the weekends. Evenings on weekdays, even Friday have fared pretty well, so I'll just go a little later than usual and I will hope I won't have to go into battle in my local grocer, who happens to be a WalMart type big box place.

Thanks, yeah, this isn't going to be a gaming PC, just a regular everyday use PC and a Home Theatre PC, so I will be watching an unholy amount of video. Previous person suggested an integrated graphics card, but I have one on my dying laptop and it pixelated and overheated quite often, so this one is going to have

I've generally thought a better time of year to buy a TV was during Super Bowl weekend. Prices seem lower than Black Friday, less people shopping and newer model TV's on sale, YMMV however.

Ugh, yes, don't remind me. I get paid on Black Friday this year, I'm not looking forward to doing my weekly grocery shopping trip this weekend AT ALL. I'll delay it to around midnight so hopefully most of the morons will have dispersed by then. :(

Come tax time next year around Feb-March, I will be purchasing the following for a new PC that I will primarily use as both PC/HTPC. I am also proud to say this will be my first ever self built machine.

Thanks for this information. I was looking everywhere for it and couldn't find anything.

And for all the sites that put a big friggin script on their page for those of us using ABP telling us to turn it off or we cannot use the site, there is THIS handy script, and it works pretty darn well:

It's not an ethics question. It's an advertising BS question. Do you or do you not want spyware/malware/virus ridden BS from 3rd party ads on your PC? Most of us do not, hence the need for something like ABP.

Indeed. I'm glad I still have this year and most of next year to get this matter resolved, but it's still another pain in the ass.

This is causing an unexpected amount of stress on me. I have been battling to get Medicaid for the last 6 months, and I still have not heard a def. no, could be another 2.5 months before I find out if I will get it or not.
