Man, I love the cover artwork on those Bantam paperbacks. They're like paintings from my childhood, especially "Dandelion" and "Machineries of Joy".

So Adam Carolla's become the Dennis Miller of the Man Show?
"...decent movie again after the Airbender debacle".
I didn't feel nauseous, per se, but it did start to get to me. Still, I found it fascinating.
I'm guessing the author didn't care for "Clash of the Titans".
You mean Mick Garris? I met him once. Nice guy. Terrible filmmaker.

Um...yeah, when I first saw King Kong on TV as a child.
I hope they release a video of the evolution of the Wayne Knight creature.
I still think JP was the last time an effect actually held me in awe, the way I was when I first saw King Kong, or 2001, or the Imperial Cruiser pass overhead in Star Wars. That Brontosaurus appearance def. was a milestone moment in cinematic effects history.
I just re-watched Dark Knight Rises and was amazed at how well he was able to blend the practical and the CGI. I actually only noticed a small handful of moments that were obviously CGI. Even a lot of The Bat, which most filmmakers considering its size would have just CGI'd, seemed like a practical effect.
Lucas changed the course of film history. His place in the movie heaven is secure.
Curious timing the Monday after Jack the Giant Slayer tanked. If this was leaked by Warners, it could be execs looking to change the storyline Monday and try to get some job security by hyping the idea of Nolan taking over the DC Universe.
Maybe it's the write up, but this was more confusing than anything else.
Not sure what difference that makes, but I'd rate "The Shining", "Exorcist", "Rosemary's Baby", "The Innocents", and "Kwaidan" pretty highly.
The set up really reminded me of Wall. E, and made it hard for me to take the rest of the trailer seriously. Morgan Freeman doing a poor man's Morpheus didn't help, either.
Insidious was god-awful. I think there was one slightly scary sequence halfway through (the dancing ghost bit), but the rest of it was just bad, until it got to the last 20 minutes, when it completely fell apart in an unending series of amateurish filmmaking and cheap sets.

Iron Man + Capra-esque = Shark Jumping.
