Well there are pages upon pages of hunters who hunt, cook, and eat boar that disagree with you. I think I will believe them over you.

Everything I have read (and no I am not an expert, but the people that I am reading from sure seem to be) says it has nothing to do with what they eat, but how old and large they are. Hormones is what gives them a bad flavor, and those tend to store up in the fat of the animal. So eating younger boars is better. 

Time to fix that, then. We need a camera crew, a couple rifles, and a number of pretty Japanese women in school girl outfits.

Agreed. It would take a big shift in Japan’s rural culture and gun culture. Fortunately, Japan is only half the size of Texas, and it doesn’t sound like the problem is as big as what TX has... Yet.

If it is as much of a problem as the article states and is only likely to get worse, then something will have to be done at some point. Scaring them away only will work for a time, or until the population hits a particular point.
