Pandemic and and the two “Forbidden” games I would consider more ‘simplified’ games where as Robinson Crusoe is a bit more complicated (but a great game), so it would depend on where your and your GF’s interests lie.

Well, arn’t we Mr. or Ms. Snippypants. What they are doesn’t matter, I am comparing the complexity of the design, which has definitely tended to ‘more complex’ as the series has gone on, and stating my opinion that I like the simpler designs better. You are welcome to your own opinion.
