Making it difficult to replace the ram isn’t as common, but using PSU’s with proprietary form factors is something that happens a lot. This is especially true for companies like Dell or whatnot.

You know, no welded in place proprietary power supplies, RAM sticks with no discernable way to remove, etc etc etc. The more a machine uses off the shelf parts, the easier it’ll be to tweak to your heart’s content.

Right, if you’re confident or have extra money to throw at the build to cover screwups, go ahead. If you’re a first time builder with a very limited budget. I’d save a bit longer, get a prebuilt system, and maybe swap out the GPU and power-supply when you can afford it.
