@chancentrate: It does seem horribly juvenile and petty, and I know I don't think very well of people who insult our jezziwriters' appearance when they disagree with them.

I'm certainly guilty of this. I tend to only put the TV on for noise, anyway, though. If it's something I actually want to watch, I'll put the laptop aside.

I dunno, I've got nothing against the Church's statement. It was brief and to the point, and they're allowed to feel that this artist's subversion of their holy figure is tacky. It was a one-sentence statement that didn't call for the artist's death, so as far as artist v. religion vision conflicts go, this one

Dear Governor Palin,

I'm not entirely sure I want to be plastered on anyone's monitor. It sounds painful and likely to hamper my own productivity.

I'd like to note that it does not have a char-grilled with mustard and onion rings topped with a ladle-full of hot cheese-like-substance option.

Am I missing the part where this* doesn't look like crud?
