I am currently being harassed at work by a man on the basis that he says his mormon religion demands he be sexist against me, so I’m all for this.

Sometimes I wish someone would do something similar for Mormonism. It’s not as extreme as scientology, but it’s a cult nonetheless, and there are a lot of similar stories to be told. We’ve got podcasts, blogs, and r/exmormon, but no documentaries that i know of.

Except no there aren’t. People have no problem judging the poor who are struggling with mental illness on top of worrying about being able to provide for family. Like I said keep it in perspective.

This kind of thing happens in Science (big S intended) all the time. I wouldn’t blame the doctor. It’s great that she came forward to admit her mistake in the first place. All Science is progressive and cumulative, and when it’s used in a court of law that can be both a benefit and a detriment.

In comments above it’s clarified that they thought anything other than a ‘perfect’ hymen = sexual trauma, but it’s since been proven that hymens have an awful lot of natural variation. So there was a natural ridge on the girl’s hymen which the ‘expert’ just decided was scarring.
