Hahahaha, labor strife in the UFC? Never going to happen. Anyone who raises a fuss is gone and they can always make another star. Look at what McGregor - easily the biggest star now - tried to do a few months back and how quickly he was slapped back to “I luvs Uncle Dana and Uncle Frank” talk.

True, but the Rousey and McGregor pushes have already blown up in their faces (Rousey much more than McGregor). WME have tried everything to make Rousey likable and it has failed.

Still confused how they got that much. UFC worth as much as what Disney paid for the STAR WARS rights? Worth more than MLB or NFL franchises? Insane. The only sure thing about this deal is none of the fighters will benefit. “Thanks for your blood and sweat.” - the Fertittas

But didn’t you hear what he said on his show today? It totally angered him to be getting money from Zuffa and he didn’t like it. ;-)

Indeed, Ariel and “good journalism” should never be mentioned together. In fact, it has been baffling to watch tons of MMA fans call him a “good journalist who asks the tough questions.” I guess they never saw his rise. Ariel has long handled the UFC with kid gloves and played the game. Hell, he used to stammer when

Always liked Kimbo. He wasn’t a world beater, but he had charisma and went further than most thought he would.

His fight versus Michael Jai White from BLOOD AND BONE:

If you are new to the world of Ariel Helwani, he likes to make himself the center of many stories (his denials of this were hilarious) and he was totally playing up the victim angle today. It was bizarre.

Surprising after all the stuff he spilled on today’s show. But the UFC seriously underestimated the amount of bad press they would get for this. Actual legit sites (and Deadspin) were covering it.

Seems they turned on him when he went after poor Wolf Blitzer, which is hilarious because everything he said was dead on.

Never seen such a so-so talent get more press...well, except for Rousey.

Probably pissed hot. UFC now sits folks out for two years for that.

Crazy to think that if Gordon had raped or killed someone that he wouldn’t be missing games.

Agreed. The storyline I’m looking forward to the most in this next year is how Zuffa will creatively find ways for McGregor to not fight Frankie Edgar.

Which is why Dana & Co. tried to pull the same “last minute replacement” stuff with Diaz. They were hoping to catch Diaz unawares. Unfortunately they forgot about the triathlons.

Khabib said they straight up turned down his offer to fight Conor. They wanted a guy with 10 losses like Diaz who they didn’t think posed much of a threat (he’s 1-2 in his last three; hasn’t subbed anyone in years).

I love that Dana & co. were hoping to catch another fighter unprepared (a la the McGregor/Mendes fight) and it blew up in their faces.

McGregor will be broke in four years and selling back all the BMWs he bought his family. UFC won’t take care of him like he thinks they will. Plus, his coke problem is a bit out of control.

And just this past week on Conan O’Brien he said, “The weight won’t matter.” LOL

McGregor is doing so much coke these days that he truly thinks he is invincible. Doesn’t help that Dana & co. fostered that belief in him.

How did he “shock the MMA world?” Fans have known McGregor has no ground game (two losses by sub already; repeatedly taken down by Mendes) and his fights were being very carefully vetted by the UFC. They hedged their bets by giving it to Nate on 11 days notice and the fact he hasn’t won by sub in years and it
