I did not say he is immune from criticism or that you are not allowed to criticise him. I said I agreed with Lindy's point that he should include a broad range of human experience but we shouldn't be telling him what to write.

I've heard a lot of 'but he was so funny' references today, like a sense of humour is the magic cure of depression. Sometimes it's a by-product of it.

I did agree with Lindy's point that he should cover a range if human experiences but I just feel like he should write as he wishes. Some other commenters have mentioned that he has written same sex scenes in the Game of Thrones books.
