Started to download around 4PM EST. Timed out around 6PM. Only about half way finished with the download when it timed out and made me restart the download. In the end I just said "screw this, I'll do this in a week".

iOS 5 isn't available on the iPhone 3G. I'm pretty sure even the talented hackers of the world wouldn't be able to put iOS 5 on the 3G.

Actually, on Sprint's website ( [shop.sprint.com] ), the 32 and 64 GB models are still available for Oct. 14th delivery. Its only the 16GB model that's sold out.
