Fair enough, I’d say a few hours is definitely giving it a good shake. I’ve seen mixed things review-wise, but I plan to get through it no matter what. I mean hey, if I can make it through things like Beyond the Beyond, then this shouldn’t be too bad.

If you’ve only played for a couple of hours, can you really say there isn’t much else to it? While it wouldn’t be very good game design for it to take so long to change, you of all people should know that a JRPG is way longer than a couple of hours.

I agree that it shouldn’t have been rated anywhere near as high as it was, I was also pretty disappointed with it. The one thing that it did nail pretty well was the tense atmosphere, but other than that, the whole thing felt so pointless.

Him letting somebody else win would be boring, as well as disrespectful to the person he would be playing against. Are you seriously faulting him for being better at a game than just about everyone he plays against?

So... A regular Greek celebration then?

I personally see no problem with review scores, just the people who blindly go by them. Certain reviewers’ views resonate with some people more than others, so the numbers can give a good jumping-off point to gauge further interest. When going by the numbers it’s useful to check out the extremes and see what

You say that like the story was ever finished

I’d say it’s simple rather than shallow. Do you know how the crits work? Hit an enemy to keep a juggle going just before it touches the ground, which when done in combination with all of your available attacks is both challenging and really devastating, since the enemies’ shields don’t come back up until they touch

Flaws such as?

It’s easy to play, but not easy to play optimally. You can drastically cut down on chapter length if you make good teams, get consistent crits, use support attacks and supers optimally, etc. Anyways the joy of playing the game IS the battle system, so why should the chapter length matter if you’re going to be fighting

The lighting just makes it look silver/white. Also platinum blonde is a thing

“It’s almost like cheese with butter, in a bowl...”

The way this game works seems almost exactly like the dungeon crawling in the original Lufia II without turn-based encounters, I’m totally sold.

I would stealthily kill a great many people for that signed MGS PS4.

I never thought I would see/hear the term “Chinese War Pornography,” it has a nice ring to it.

I’m getting a strong Dead Space vibe from the atmosphere and environment, at least from what was shown in the video.

There are some decent ones, but IMO a lot of them just look like knock-off, moe-fied IIDX characters. Is it just me?

That does look nice, but I’m not the biggest fan of Halo, so I would probably buy that for the sole purpose of swapping those triggers and that dpad into my Titanfall controller to make that look even better.

When it comes to general consensus I completely agree, at that point it pretty much becomes a question of taste. If I absolutely had to pick a second favorite JRPG, I think it would be Mario RPG, but for the most part the games in my top 10 are so close that I can’t really give an exact order.

I’ve always been really into JRPGs and no question FFVI is up there in my favorites. I really hope you end up playing Chrono Trigger at some point if you haven’t gotten around to it yet, like many others it’s my favorite game of all time, and for very good reasons.
