I’d love to see what David Tennant could do with the role.

Iain Banks, the Scottish sci-fi writer.
He has a lot in common with Bowie in that he’s also dead.

Russell Banks in the Bowie role...yes?

As for ‘why’—Jennifer Connelly wasn’t anorexic and didn’t show her tits in the original. How are today’s youth gonna relate? Clearly, a reboot’s necessary.

you did make your point well. but, the thing is. strictly speaking, we’re both amateurs, or, at best, olympic contenders at being witty and insightful. whereas comedians are paid to put most of their time and energy into refining whatever talents they have in those areas to wield wit, insight, and humor

Yeahhhh...women comedians just be like ‘my boobs. LOL’. There’s no intelligence, individual voice, or craft to it. Go tit. Er...got it.

by definition, we’re all older than we were. but no one in this picture is old.

Many who would seek help are made to be ashamed of their struggles by those who repeat ignorant untruths. You are actively harming people with your ignorance. Go Google.

If she is actively working to find the combination of meds, therapy, lifestyle choices, and support that helps keep her disorder under control, then it’s a wonderful thing that you’re reaching down deep for compassion, even when you’re on the receiving end of things.

It’s ok, though, when she’s stable enough for you

Disgusting and completely inappropriate. I’m so sorry.

You better check yourself—there is no room for nuance on the internet.

And when you don’t have pretty, nobody looks at you. Period.
That’s my personal testimonial there.

Is this part of that new ‘despise people with less money than you’ kick that all the kids are on about, these days? As I said to the OP, everyone ended up paying less than if he’d contributed his rightful share of 1/15 of the check. Basic math.

I’ve been thinking about it since I posted, and I realize there isn’t a real difference between a coupon and a pricing promotion. It’s structured differently, but I’m receiving the same sort of benefit. The only difference is that tipping on the pre-coupon price is customary, whereas tipping on the pre-discounted

It’d be different, of course, if this guy is the friend who always somehow fucks up his cafe math and leaves people throwing in extra dollars to cover for his shortfall. We all know and hate that guy. That guy doesn’t get to pay with a coupon, no...

Even if it’s not an exact figure, any way you run the numbers, he put in more than his share. Because 1/15 of the check is always 7%, and 10% is always...10%. Do you know what happens when someone pays more than their share (even if it’s with a coupon)? Everyone pays a little less.

There is no net loss to you. You

You realize that by using the coupon, he contributed more than his share of the check, right? You said there were 15 people there. If the check was $250, his proper share would’ve been $20, including a generous tip. But a 10% coupon would’ve knocked off $25 from the bill. I don’t see a problem.

How’s it an asshole move?

I love me some Kraft cheese. I grew up eating American cheese on toasted freezer bagels, and every so often I’ve still got to have it. It’s true comfort food for me.
When you burn your marshmallows, are they charred black, or crunchy like a cereal marshmallow, and sort of brownish?

When I have a coupon, I always tip on the pre-coupon value, but it’s never occurred to me to tip full value when the restaurant is running a discount. If the restaurant chooses to lower the price of the meal, whether permanently or temporarily, seems like that shouldn’t be my responsibility. It makes me a bit mad to

I just tried it a moment ago over email. I’ve been assuming that it would go badly so I sort of stopped even considering doing so. I’m glad you brought up the possibility because I am tired of the negative feeling I’m harboring towards him, and it does seem like something I should at least give a chance. (Not that I’m
