It actually is pretty hard. It's only familiarity that allows you to orient yourself quickly to what line/connections are needed.

That sounds rather insecure. If you know who you are, you wouldn't be afraid of people thinking you have less, or are less, than you truly are.
(As a teen, I worked in a popular convenience store in the upper-crust suburbs. You would not believe what sorts of fits these people would pitch for a ten cent discount.)
Only suckers pay more than they have to. They're all "hello, I'm a pinata full of money; please beat me till it all comes out." Being classy, on the other hand, comes down to how you treat people. If you're looking down on people for having less money, chances are, you're not classy.
Social norms in democratic public space are a negotiation. It's perfectly natural that we define these norms by our own needs and wants; equally natural that others' definitions will diverge from ours.
To say that one party's thoughts are legit while the other is 'gaslighting'...that's an ad hominem attack in its most…
Sometimes, people have a blind spot for their assumptions. They don't hear something, but sort of just...fill in that blank themselves...
(Yes, it's dumb, and yes, I've done it.)
Many restaurants have 'mushroom burger' on the menu. It's never a portobello burger; it's meat with mushrooms on top. Similarly, a 'southwestern burger' is not new mexico on a sesame bun. #Sadface
I do wonder, though, if in cases like these, the picture is worth 1000 words. You can tell your child that the magazine is using sex to sell copies, but—what if their takeaway is that this is what success looks like? Whether you say it disapprovingly or not—this girl is on the cover, and even a child knows that's no…
Or because the naked people in National Geographic were going about their business, rather than being placed in come-and-get-it poses and photoshopped to all hell.
Excellent, thank you.
How are the bananas used? In combination with which toppings, typically? I'm curious.
Sarpinos offers a spinach/egg combo. The egg is way too bland, and in combination with spinach (which raises my expectations of any pizza), it's doubly disappointing.
I've never heard of this.Tell me about the cream cheese. It's instead of the tomato sauce? And the slice is served hot, or no?
What is 'clams casino'? Sounds like a gamble...but really, what is it?
I am with you on that. The textures and tastes together (ok, the whole thing) is just *why*.
Yes, and no—the pushing of GMO leads to less genetic diversity in crops. This diversity may be key to producing viable crops in changing climate conditions. (This article mostly focuses on livestock, but briefly touches on crops). https://student.societyforscience.org/article/livest…
Also—I don't have a great grasp on…
Your opinion is not all that extreme, and people are going coocoobananas. Why? I don't get it.
Thank you. All very well-said.

That sounds reasonable, but I don't think you can necessarily extrapolate from the use of one Groupon that the person belongs to Tribe Groupon. I might go to all the finest restaurants, but take the opportunity presented by a discount to try something different from the usual (whether it rates or not).
I respectfully disagree. Whether they paid full price or not should have bearing on how we view their behavior.
