LOL BECAUSE FEMINST WOMENZ UNREASONABLE.
Why can't they just try to get along with everyone? Like, realllly.
1. I see.
2. How come?
3. You're independent, rather than introverted, then. That doesn't sound like a bad thing. so someone you date won't have to deal with douchebag friends and intrusive family obligations; great.
4. I think the difference is in presenting them as strengths, rather than incidentals. Paint a picture.
5…
1. Don't tell women that people think you're a little boy or a middle aged man, and that weekend fun =doing laundry.
2. Say more about what you're looking for in a woman (besides someone who is within a certain age range and geographical area, and who likes men).
What would you enjoy about having someone in your life?…
These comments are distressing. I thought Gawker was sometimes pretty bad. I don't understand what makes the commentariat different here.
Naw, that was exactly what I was thinking when I read—and fully understood—the other post. Even though my lips were moving as I read, and all. I got it. And have an opinion. That's different from yours. It happens.
That's a lovely turn of phrase.
OK, I see what happened here. I am old, and ridiculously slang illiterate, so misinterpreted something.
When you said you'd prefer a different dress, but "'I'M NOT RHIANNA.' Therefore, go on wit ya bad self." I took that to mean you feel that it's an appropriate choice because Rihanna is a badass and a rebel. I then…
I referenced what you said, disagreed, and went on to make a different point. conversationally. you know. where people introduce ideas that springboard off what you said, rather than just agreeing with you or nodding politely.
Did I? Or did I have a different point entirely? Perhaps a better one? (Oh my!)
It's not your place to pass judgement on my grasp of the point.
Mind if I ask how old you are, and how long you've been doing this? This is in relation to assumptions I have about metabolism, rather than anything judge-y.
A very modern dilemma; there is no correct response.
Just kidding. Personally, I'd like everyone to think like cold, logical, robots. But if we were that, we wouldn't have anything to shave.
I'd say try the cheaper razor, if you haven't before. Take it for a real spin, try it at least 3 times. See if you still miss the…
Someone else said earlier 'You need a lot of time for the kind of dedication to fitness that would allow you to reach and sustain and size 0/2/4 rock hard body.'
I'd love to check that (correct-sounding) assumption. How much time do you spend each week on your fitness?
I heart my specially pinked up hair removing thing for ladies CUZ.
1)I have lots of anecdotal evidence!
2)I am exempt from the placebo effect.
3)I am not influenced by advertising but know all the brands, spokespersons, and jingles with a .05 second recognition time.
Well. Yes. They do get to wear what they want. Or whatever their team tells them to. And, if we like, we can ask what it says about being a woman today, or, whether we think they look hawt. As long as they're being talked about, pretty much everyone's happy.
That's spot on, Fowler. Spot on.
There are rewards and a lot of positive reinforcement for what Rihanna's doing. A beautiful woman baring all. Really, there's no downside, and it's just marketing. The same can't be said for Beth Ditto. She's one bold chick.
Sorry, I think I misspoke. I agree with you regarding rape culture. I am disagreeing with the OP on that point.
I disagree with the rape culture statement. But how is she not participating in her own objectification? Aren't there rewards provided by our culture for doing so? Don't the rewards get bigger, the higher you are on the ladder?
She's a performer, a commercial act. Why would she be above marketing herself as an object, if it pays?
Has she ever gone on record expressing any kind of consciousness or motive beyond profit? I don't follow her that closely; tell me if I'm wrong. I'd be happy to hear it.
