And this is why many engineers would like to stop saying One in a 500 or 1000 or 10-year storm and call it what it is. a 0.2% chance storm or a 0.1% chance or a 10% chance. People automatically assume that a X year storm will only happen once in that many years.

Depends on where you lived on well water and what was around. Some cities are well water with minimal water treatment.

Do you know the cost of upgrading your pipes and the city infrastructure? It is much easier to ban the use of garbage disposals than it is to pay the millions to add larger pipes for a convenience. And like 10fmany said, it a 20-inch pipe still fills up with FOG (Fat’s Oil’s and Grease) and clogs then overflows.

I was able to get in on the beta. Those that complain never played an augmented reality game on their phone. The drain is about the same as Niantic’s first game Ingress. It is fun, but nothing like the GB games.
