My 280ZX would go, "Lights are on, door open, lights are on, door open, CRRRHKKKKK, CRRRRCKKKK, CRCCCKKKKK, CRKKKKK" until you turned the car off, turned the headlights off, turned the car back on, then turned on the headlights.
I disabled that shit as soon as I got the car home, but I loved the digital dash... …
Or maybe he could write for the LA Times :P
Yeah, I think it's a nice price, but only if I had the facilities and time to part it out and sell the motor, fix all the shit the previous owner fucked up and put a stock drivetrain back in it.
Slicktop Z32s are kind of rare, and even if it cost $3-$4k and a lot of hours to make it nice again, it would definitely be…
I had a Camry, it was comfortable, it was pleasant to spend my commute in but it was NOT exciting or fun to drive.
It was boring.
A car can be both "not a piece of shit" and "boring" at the same time.
Putting a wing or spoiler on a RWD RX-8 where it actually provides downforce on the drive wheels is a lot different than sticking it on a beat up FWD '94 Civic.
Have you seen the other blimp flying around the LA area? It's painted to look like a minion from "Despicable Me" but otherwise looks like a normal goodyear blimp.
At first I thought it was the Spirit of America with some kind of promotional paint job.
Edit: somehow I accidentally posted this on the wrong article..
Sorry
I would also imagine BMW is a lot closer to Toyota than Lexus when it comes to R&D budgets.
For future reference, calling all eastern European people 'Russian' is like calling all Latin American people 'Mexican'.
(This bit of information might actually save you from getting your ass kicked by a pissed-off Ukrainian at some point in the future).
It never rains in Southern California and the rest of the southwest. In the northwest (Seattle, Portland) it's actually a lot like England (nice when it's not cold, rainy, or both :P)
Eh, I don't like the new BMW sales model, but just about every one of those cars is a blast to drive.
Stupid yes, boring no.
I agree, although if I had shot it I would have done a tiny bit more work with some curves layers and masking to add some contrast back in and make the blacks look more natural.
But this is a really good shoot despite what look like some pretty challenging lighting conditions, and I'd really like to see what it looks…
Edit: my comment double posted for some reason.
Nissan actually build the 2013 and later US market Leafs (Leaves???) here and they either built or are in the process of building a huge design center in Detroit.
BMWs are like Rolexes in that there's two very different kinds of people who like them, one type buys it for the craftmanship and heritage, and because they're damn fun cars to drive. And the other buys it to show off their wealth (or at least that they have good enough credit to qualify for the lease.)
The horrible gold and white is what really kills it in my book, not really the body kit or anything, I think with a stock grille and some less flashy wheels the Merc could actually look really nice..
I saw a used 2001 at the dealer when I took my girlfriend's Golf TDI in for an oil change.
