UGH KATE COME ON you are such an Adam Levine apologist
I had a mad crush on him growing up. I was the only girl in my school who was all: "ooo that Hawkeye Pierce, miam!"
I am really petite and look young. When I was in my late 20's, I was walking in my neighbourhood to the bus stop in baggy hoodie, T-shirt, soccer shorts, and a mini-backpack. I got trailed by a middle age guy in a car and ask if I wanted to "party". Party=get paid for sex. I probably looked about 16 years old so…
Me too. I dress pretty damn modestly, favouring gigantic body-obscuring styles of coats (Canada y'all) and menswear-style shoes, but I find myself waiting outside of bars because my friends are flakes. Clearly, it means I'm working. The grossest part is that until recently, when graduate school gave me cool bags under…
According to the update in the story, he wasn't suspended for being a boy with a purse, it was because the school does not allow students to take their bags to class. Somehow that sounds like it might be spin.
Apparently there is more to this story than meets the eye. In the comments section of the news story one of the students said this:
Dear Literal Person:
Or you are just vastly different from your parents. My parents are fine people, but they are very much of the "jobs are for paychecks not satisfaction, don't question authority, stick close to home" people, and would be great role models for like-minded children (they're awesome role models to some of my cousins). But…
I also live in Canada and I don't even HAVE a key for my house. (Northern Ontario, suburbs) Seriously, I moved in with a friend and she only had one key that can't be copied.
I live in Calgary and don't usually lock the door when I'm at home. I do lock it at night. I also lock it when it's really cold out in order to keep the door shut a little tighter and prevent drafts coming in from the cracks around the door.
I am Canadian and lock my door, like most people who live in apartments. However no one I know who lives in a house does. My parents and their friends never even lock up their cars, Just stopped leaving keys in them a few years ago. They are in their 70's.
Never really locked in TO. Maybe upbringing-based?
Hey! Fellow white lady here. If my car breaks down in a mostly white neighborhood, I generally don't have to worry about getting shot in the head because I look like the homeowner's idea of a threat.
Eh, no the original premise (the OC) was very wealthy wives/girlfriends, but since the beginning some have had their own careers (Vicki). And then in NYC Bethenny was the first single cast member. And then as the seasons go on there are several cast members that have had successful careers before the show.
Maybe I'm just apathetic about SNL having" a HUGH influence on how people perceive the world". I've always assume most people view Americans as a big Drunk Uncle anyway.
"Justin Bieber married a guy..."
So, just to clarify:
Those that don't feel sorry for her, you're saying that this girl deserves to be threatened with rape because of how she dressed.
I'm interested to know if you also think those who wear short skirts deserve to be threatened with rape because of how they dress.
