Woops I recommended this by accident.

Yes, in fact, I would. And have.

OK, I'm going to get reamed for this but here goes... from what I've read (which admittedly is only 2 or 3 articles), it sounds like there is a very weak case against him. We do have to recognize that, as shitty as it is, there ARE false allegations made against men. I'm not saying this is necessarily the case, but

Well he was never charged with anything, and even this woman's friends say it was bullshit.

I really hope that none of the writers at Jezebel.com/Gawker media gets accused of anything they didn't do. By their own standards, they'd automatically be guilty of it.

eeee. I really could give less than two fucks about who wins the Heisman. But he hasn't been convicted of a crime. I don't think its reasonable to expect anyone accused of a crime to automatically be treated as though they've been convicted.

Wait, did the author dismiss my comment?
Here it is (if this one disappears too, I'll know for sure it wasn't a glitch); can't imagine it's dismiss-worthy:

I see nothing wrong with this. If he had all of the qualifications for winning the Heisman and hasn't been charged with a crime, there is no reason he shouldn't have won the award.

Rape culture is a person never being able to escape a rape accusation even after the justice system makes its decision?

Agreed. Innocent until proven guilty is, more or less, the most fundamental principle in our society. ....but at the same time, football players so regularly get away with EVERYTHING that the cynic in me will always question any effort to prove guilt.

Also acceptable response: wow, I don't care.

I really can't wait for this dumb trend of worshipping Beyonce to die down. It was barely funny to begin with, now its just boring and old.

I don't really understand why people here call her an "artist"? She just isn't. Joni Mitchell is an artist. Beyonce is an entertainer. A terrific entertainer, but not an artist.

Off-topic, but I was so confused that both Russel Crowe and Hugh Jackman have singing and theater experience and yet neither of them were very good in that. I actually think I liked Crowe's performance better all told.

True, I do think the hate tweets were un-called for. Also, TOTALLY agree that the producers and powers that be are totally at fault as far as casting.

That's not how the entertainment executives think. They think that celebrity outdraws talent. They are probably right.

Who? I'm not trying to be aggressive here, I'm actually curious who people think would have been good. I'm not all up on actors who can sing, so I don't think I'd be able to come up with anyone. (Then again, I don't think they should have done the whole thing in the first place.)

Ugh. I don't get how someone offering prayers to those who have criticized her has to be viewed so negatively.

I was talking about this the other day- really think about it for a second, NBC execs clearly wanted a big-name star to do this show in order to drive up ratings. Who else could they have reasonably gotten? (Don't forget the months of rehearsal they would have had to be available for leading up to the broadcast).
