@SteveSonoa: They all came from the Japanese version of the game. Serebii (who was playing the rom at first) posted pictures of his game cart and everything in the case when it came in.

@Archaic: Have you been in direct contact with Joe (Serebii's webmaster for those that don't know) about the validity of the letter? I only ask because he hasn't said anything, and that this seems like a very unNintendoish thing to do.
