Nope, they are completely irrelevant at this point and use stunts like this to try to get people to pay attention to them.

I’d have liked the story more if the guy’s pants fell down as he chased his car, and then he pooped all over himself. Honestly, I thought you were going there when the car started farting. Missed opportunity.

Is CR even a thing people use to make a decision on whether or not to buy a car? Other than that, I’m just waiting for the Tesla Fanboys “But everyone has reliability issues! This isn’t exclusive to Tesla!” comments. 

Make it a production car only available in flat black.....name it the Interceptor.......sell as many as you can make.

Seriously though.....no one cares. No kids these days see the back of that F1 car and say “I think Marlboro Cigarettes are lit”, because you had to write this entire article to explain what the hell it even means. So their advertising doesn’t work.

I’d imagine the Tesla, even a base model, would be immensely more fun to drive than a hybrid Corolla ever could hope to be. The current base Model 3 does 0-60 in 5.6 seconds and is RWD.

Probably means they’d move hatchback production to the Civic plant in the US.

Not that I see. Nope.

The transition to the controls of my Model 3 has been the easiest for me of any vehicle I have owned. Sure, I cannot reach over by memory and find the dial to turn up the volume, I use the left scroll wheel instead. I cannot find a knob to turn the heat up or down, I just glance over to swipe right or left to adjust…

No one. And I worked on performance cars for the better part of a decade. An A/T in sport mode on twisties is much better than 95% of “good” manual drivers can even try to eclipse, plus it keeps both hands on the wheel.

I see it as the opposite. With no spinning dials in front of me, it’s just me, a steering wheel and my instant torque pedal. It’s much more visceral to me, I press the pedal and I’m instantly gratified with a response. It’s instant feedback to my inputs. 

Not more distracting than this

You’re asking for an app, not a manual transmission. And you should know by now that your in the extreme minority (tenths to hundredths of a percent), so no OEM would invest anything into this development time/cost.

Longtime “car guy” here. Owned/own/working on: 79 Mercury Capri RS Turbo, Nitrous’d 88 Integra, Turbo 96 Integra GSR, 02 WRX, 06 EVO 9, 08 Lexus ISF, 96 Land Cruiser, 91 RT4WD Civic, ‘12 Supercharged Tundra and now a Model 3 Performance.

This one gave me cancer, aids, and smallpox.
