Who hurt you?
Agreed. It absolutely depends how you road trip. If you only do 200-mile days or do 500-mile days with two long meals ~3 hours apart, the Bolt is perfectly good.
This was an honest to god useful review on Jalopnik. Thats sort of rare! As someone is who is considering an EV for when i finally kick my old Subaru to the gutter this was helpful, especially the bit about fast charging.
I’d like to congratulate Oshkosh on this achievement. I didn’t think it would be possible, but they’ve proven me wrong. They’ve made a mail truck that’s uglier than what we have now. Stunning.
My guess on #1 is what I’ve seen in a bunch of crossovers, they bulk up the door panels and extend the dash further in than necessary to give the illusion that you’re in a big SUV. Example, the Ford Escape is basically a lifted Focus hatchback. Exterior dimensions are almost exactly the same (except taller), but get…

I would definitely want a $25,000 EV.
Buses in LA have been clearing gaps like that since ‘94.
With automatic slide whistle.
It isn’t 2012 anymore. DC fast charging means most modern cars fill all the miles you need in half an hour.
Also, 80% of charging happens at home, and with most driving habits only needs to be charged once a week or less.
It’s simple, put chargers where people would normally park the car and not a special place you go to, to charge/ refuel the car.
Most streetlights were installed when the power requirements for lighting were much higher. The LED lights that replaced the discharge lamps use very little power.
The obvious place to put (medium speed) chargers is along the streets of residential neighborhoods of cities, where the only parking option is on-street, You want to charge where and when you are sleeping. (and for the average driver that could be just an ordinary wall outlet).
No, BEVs sure don’t violate physics or basic thermodynamics. But they do deliver a clear and proven reduction in total lifecycle carbon emissions vs ICE. We urgently have to figure out how to not strip mine the planet just to clean up our carbon emissions, though.
I test drove the Audi E-Tron, and I really liked it. I just chose a Q7 instead because of the size and need for space. (Two very big dogs, a baby, and my wife tend to pack up a vehicle.)
Wow very cyberpunk beater.
