I only recently found out that many non-iron clothing use formaldehyde to crosslink the fibers, making them wrinkle resistant. I bet Delta really like the idea of non-wrinkle uniforms and the manufacturer  gave them an extra dose. That could be another factor causing the irritation.

Do airlines offer laundry service for flight attendants? That could be another source of chemicals.

Probably, but I’m wondering if its the cloth manufacturer using unsafe (and therefore cheaper) chemicals and pocketing the difference.

Honestly, none of this surprises me and the very first thing I thought when clicking on the article was, oh boy, this is gonna be a chemistry issue. As an organic chemist, I am interested to know what dyes they used because most dyes are innocuous, some are suspected carcinogens, some are outright mutagens, and if

There is no “right” and “wrong” since they are opinions.

I will preface this statement by noting that I totally agree that the grille is hideous.

Don't lie to me!

Thank God they didn’t actually produce that concept, or any of their other concepts, because I’d be about 84 months in debt right now otherwise.

Cool and maybe they can badge them with the torque rating in ounce inches too

This man is Jaloping about as hard as one can Jalop.

They’ve basically decided that they can’t compete with the Camry/Civic/Corolla/Accord, so they’ve given up. The Fusion is/was still the 4th best selling Ford, fwiw...

If owners of sedans can’t find one to replace their current one, they’ll end up with a crossover. Once they experience the additional space, ease of entry, etc., they will be hooked, and the trend will grow even stronger down the road.

That’s a quite a claim, but wrong regardless. The average buyer is educated and very aware of what is out there..simply put most buyers who do purchase a Focus or Cruz simply buy it because its what they need and it makes sense financially. I am not saying some don’t buy them because its all they can afford, but

“Some 42% of Ford Focus and Chevy Cruze compact car owners have stayed in the compact car segment with a significant percentage buying competitors’ vehicles”

20 years ago we had multiple suppliers, and each had hard/soft/wet tyres. It wasn’t rocket science then, it isn’t now.

Exactly. The problem is that the Trax and Ecosport suck.

I would be legitimately interested in an AWD focus that wasn’t the RS

My problem with Ford was that instead of trying to figure out why we are inefficient and can’t make money on the tight stuff, we just swept it under the SUV margin rug. I’ve heard that Ford’s profitability is questionable on the Ecosport and Escape now too, so it’s all coming back to haunt them.

As someone who has purchased a 2014 Fiesta (ST), 2018 Forte and will buy an 2019/2020 Impreza soon, I can confirm that small car owners do like to stay with what they know.
