He wanted ALL the vents. Have you seen a Lonestar?

Doug, I think this is the first time that one of your articles actually contained a bona-fide insight about the car industry. You'll just have to work harder next time at being totally out in left field.
This is extra hilarious since my last boss was named Jim and previously worked in product development for GM, doing a decent stint with Cadillac.
Does this color seem to induce spontaneous vomiting from pedestrians on the street, or is the sweet roof enough of an antacid to prevent that?
He probably comments on YouTube videos.
They need a car that has the same presence as that car while being a sales hit. They don't need to look at the past and build something retro.
That car exists for KNOWN reasons. The unknown reason is why anyone buys anything that costs more and goes less fast...
That's right: the auto is faster. Anyone else wanna hate on the autobox now?
I think you're onto something with the segment though. In addition to being one of the more fickle segments of cars in terms of interesting-ness, it seems like a segment where most of the folks couldn't be bothered to figure out which car is the small one and which car is the big one. Alphanumerics simplify that and…
So much hate on the "tacked on" screen. Just wait until the car companies get the drift and have "upgrades" you can do every two years, with 2 year contract pricing, where you can get the newest ipad installed in your 4 year old dash.
So what exactly do you get out of living there that is worth all of that trouble? Writing for Jalopnik?
Would you expect any less? GM, of all the automakers, has the biggest gap in "concept -> production desirability".
Sonic SS. The Cobalt was a crappy car, but the Cobalt SS was respectable enough.
Get into a GLA, I'm betting it is the same size or smaller than the Focus. Have you been in a Juke? I bet you think that looks bigger than a Focus too, but it is more Fiesta sized.
This whole article is assuming people buy new cars for the investment. What about all the time I get to spend working because I don't have to fix my car every month? For most, a car is a tool to make money and enjoy that money by allowing people to be mobile and DO things. What alternatives do you offer here? …
You didn't mention this as a Euro release only, but I think we all assume it is.
Easy, 4matic.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa-mennnnnnnnnnnn.
They are going to have to do better than that at this point. Lincoln is clearly not targeting the germans, but rather the Japanese, and more specifically, Acura, with its direction.
Agreed. Buyers in this segment are expecting more, although I'm not sure how Cadillac dealers are performing on this front. Maybe some certain car bloggers can investigate how Cadillac dealer experiences compare to the German competititors...(hint hint)
