Thank you Jesus, I needed this.

Damn it, someone already made the Holy Trinity joke!

I read one where it was basically a Harlequin novel - Elizabeth almost gets kidnapped and threatened by some creepy neighbor in love with her and Darcy rides up on his horse to save her heaving bosom, etc etc. It was horrific. Fanfic has it's time and place people, but not in this guise.

Absolutely - I'll gladly take my mocking and my romance in the same novel. I mean, hey, it works for me in real life :)

Ha! I know, I read Northanger Abbey and then I was like, man, I have got to read Mysteries of Udolpho to see if it's half as crazy! That book has to owe her some serious kickbacks for readership these days, it's got to be the main reason people pick it up

That's a good point - possibly we can admit that while there are people who may read Twilight and Pride and Prejudice for the same reason (to go ooooh and squee and pretend some handsome fellow has chosen them!), it doesn't logically follow that these books are the same. It'd be like saying, Jenny eats a candy bar

Oh lord, I cannot wait for the day when those cease to become profitable. Or at the very least, when someone can find an imaginative title for one, they all seem to be named the EXACT same thing.

You're missing out on a huge part - which is that she also wrote satirically about her times and the way society worked.

Yeah, that was kind of the whole point of my second paragraph.

I know it's legal to ask on a job application if say, the person has been convicted of felony so I'm wondering if the wording here is just incorrect - maybe "arrested" isn't the right thing to say

I'm just going to come right out and say it, this grosses me the fuck out. No need to rub any sort of ground up other human body parts on your face, no sir.

Question: why would it matter if the women were in tech or not? I thought the point of Wikipedia was that anyone could enter and edit, and there was very, very little technical knowledge needed.

Yes, technically I believe that currently more women are getting degrees than men- however, it's not a huge percentage and it's also fairly recent, so currently one can assume that there are more men than women with higher education degrees as a whole

This I agree with, but the article here made it seem like that was okay to do? (I am guilty of not researching further but just taking the verbage used in the article here :) )

How is this.... preserved?

If it is an employment regulation that you not have been arrested (or to be fair, I can see why a major TV show geared towards families doesn't want contestants that have been arrested), and these men have all been arrested, then it seems fairly clear that the American Idol people aren't really technically being

Oh god, I didn't either. I'm glad two people found each other but there didn't really seem to be anything special in their story that really grabbed me. Partially, as I was reading it, I was pissed that these two people were obviously so well off. There was nothing standing in the way of their love or enjoyment

Haha while I am 1) sorry for the pain (I know every body is different!) I would also 2) Watch a cartoon of the second insertion.

Good heavens! You poor thing! My second one was luckily less painful than my first - I got them done at PP and while I love them to death, my later gyno mentioned that typically they should use ultrasounds, both at the time and about a month later to check up on you to make sure it is in the right place!

Ha! I normally remember to at least once a month, but my gyno flat out told me "It's not a big deal, seriously, no one checks theirs"
