Not at all. Cats have very clear signals when they are happy. No, they aren’t all facial expressions and might not come through well in film, but I was addressing his original statement that they can’t convey happiness. That’s not even remotely true as anyone that has been around cats knows well.

And I’m telling you those are indicators of happiness. We can debate pointless semantics all day about whether cats truly feel “happy”,  but cats have clear moods and the closest to what we would call happy can be read just like when they are irritated or angry.
