Yeah, every Saturday after I got home from college was a game of wits, me vs. Frakes. Such a ridiculous show. I met Frakes at a con and told him I’m sure everybody asks him about Star Trek, but to me, he’ll always be telling me I’m WRONG, not this time.
As deeply flawed as Dragon Age 2 was, I still think it’s one of BioWare’s more interesting and experimental games. You’re not the chosen one, you don’t save the world, you don’t even save the city, and there’s not even a main villain, just a bunch of people whose idea of “the right thing” is directly opposed to a…
Kinja in general, I think. Their coverage of basically any movie coming out that isn’t MCU-related is just laced with bitterness and snark.
This is weirdly passive-aggressive for reasons unknown.
I don’t think it was ever a beloved franchise, it was one beloved movie with a bunch of sequels of varying badness.
And then freak out about the trees being political.
“Fans” and “debate” both being exceptionally broad terms in this case.
If you told me that I was watching a trailer for DOTA: Dragon’s Blood
I’m all about catforming. But oh god I don’t want to see that cat die from missing a jump. Or get hurt. Or be unhappy.
Sorry, I figured the statement itself was an obvious joke without an /s or something. My point being that plenty of countries have a lack of women over 45 on television and in movies, but Britain is not one of them.
Have they watched any British shows? Because British shows have a lot of women over 45, certainly more than any other country’s media output. Maybe they missed them because they’re all like 6 episodes long.
I guess that’s the internet, and it’s definitely Kinja. I don’t often bother getting into discussions online because of it. “My definition of the genre is right, my understanding of this specific work is right, my college-level understanding of poli-sci is right, and the things you enjoy suck because I don’t.”
The meme format is also basically a way to say “You’re dumb and I’m very smart about political themes” with more words and a goofy cartoon face. I hate this whenever it shows up. Especially when it’s just applied to “most people,” whatever broad swath of society that might indicate. “The plebs,” I guess.
Cyberpunk being about the moment rather than the future is, I think, why Gibson’s current writing is far removed from the Sprawl books. That future was the fear of then, but to rehash it now is just to create a future based on an alternate recent history. Even in the 90s, Gibson had moved on to other things,…
Are you new to video game blogs? There are still articles about Skyrim twelve years later.
The competitive scene certainly made Overwatch less fun, because they changed the way the game plays for the sake of “eSports.” Hasn’t been fun for at least a few years now.
That’s what I do with Hunt: Showdown whenever they do Twitch drops. I couldn’t care less about watching someone else play a video game, so I just put the stream on while I’m working and put it on low volume or mute.
They also tend to be loudly in favor of the death penalty and vigilante justice.
I mean, I like watching monster trucks drive off ramps with flame jets and explosions in the background, because it’s hilarious. Don’t pollute that kind of fun by bringing God and patriarchal bullshit into it, Missouri.
