I've recently started running with the Couch-to-5K program and finished it. I can attest that every time I reached a new distance in the program, it was a big deal, even if only to me. Once I was running over a mile without stopping, every increase in distance was the furthest I had ever run in my life. This might

One reason I like push for email is that I send and receive texts to people through email so that I don't have to pay extra for texting. I send to 123456789@vtext.com, etc. This way, I get the message right when they send it, as most people expect you to respond to text fairly quickly. It wouldn't hurt to turn push

@pschroeter: It takes two seconds to move the tabs back down to below the address bar. The other changes I really like. Give it a try, and don't be so stuck in old ways.

@fivelroo: You might consider using keyword searches instead of the "omnibar" in Firefox. It lets you search Google by typing "g search term" right in the bar. I prefer it to any other method, and I've set up Amazon as "am", IMDB as "imdb", etc.

Wow, that typing sound is giving me a headache just from watching the video. Sheesh.

Firefox 4 is faster on my Mac than Chrome or Safari. The previous version was getting bogged down and slow, but this one is a big improvement. I'm glad, because I can't bring myself to switch to another browser and lose my extensions. And as others have said, the Awesome Bar is just so much better than other

"But the bottom line is this: if you need to hide stuff from either group, don't use a method you can read about on the internet."

I'm STILL driving my 92 Honda Accord that was given to me as a graduation gift from my father. I haven't had a car payment in all these years. I would love to get something newer, but I just can't bring myself to get rid of a paid-for car that is still in relatively good shape.

Downloaded the OS X version and I'm trying it out. So far I'm loving the speed. I don't like the tabs on top, but it's easy to change back, so no problem there.

The only things it doesn't back up in iTunes are your media files, which are assumed to be right there in iTunes. Why would you want to waste space backing up your ENTIRE device? That's just stupid.

Normally I would agree, but considering how many parts of the country are getting snow right now that aren't used to it, it's probably worth a quick tutorial. Living in Ohio, I do this so often its second nature, but I've seen novices scratch up cars, chip their glass, and crash into another parked car during this

@Jonn: Heh, I had a band teacher who talked down to us for about 10 minutes straight before a performance once in an effort to make us angry so that we would be motivated to perform better. When he was done, I put down my instrument and promptly walked off, missing the performance. He never tried that again.

Beautiful. I'm usually not crazy about facing a wall with something overhead, but this looks very inviting.

@tchrman35: Adam's been playing too much WoW.

A good smaller example of this is movies. If the first half hour of a movie is just terrible, my wife and I have gotten really good about just turning it off and watching another one.

There's at least one major problem with this idea.

@Ninja Nemo: Yeah, I would probably avoid trying to put the old hard drive into the new machine. It would probably work, but there is some optimization that goes on based on the hardware, and I personally always feel I get the best possible performance from a clean install. That being said, you can port over your

@Frau Cross: Disconnect all cables having to do with the monitor and video card and firmly reconnect them all. Also, try plugging the computer and monitor into different outlets just to see if the new outlet might be the problem.

Eh, just use Quicksilver and you can get rid of as many icons as you want, keeping only the most essential.
