One of these violent Trump supporters is going to get his ass killed soon.

Absolutely — both Richards and Clinton have the advantage of being in the right, as well as whip smart and poised (is there a word for ‘poised’ that doesn’t sound so pageant-y?). I do think Clinton benefitted from the optics of having all those angry dudes getting all frothy at her, the same way Rick Lazio coming in

This breaks my heart. I can’t even imagine my son being murdered and then being expected to live in a city and a world where his killers are considered authority figures and protecters. So fucking gutted for her.

I hope every person who made snide remarks about how she could go cry on a bag of money now understands that there is no amount of money that can compensate for the loss of child, particularly when your child dies in a painful and unnecessary fashion.

Christ, that poor woman. I hope she finds strength again.

Oh God, this is heartbreaking. Losing a child is something that just shouldn’t happen nowadays (and my single biggest fear), and to have your boy killed the way he was... No wonder she’s suicidal. Hopefully she can get the help she needs and at least keep on keeping on.

Exactly right. The GOP thinks this is their show. So far, she has looked presidential.

Bowdoin staff live in the country around Brunswick- Harpswell, the islands, etc. or commute from Portland. One thing you’ll find in rural New England college towns is that it’s often that the better-paid staff live in sprawling houses further from campus- lots of land, ocean nearby.

Disclaimer- I left Maine 3 years ago. Lewiston is an hard town. It’s French canadian, very Catholic, and everyone use to depend on the mill for employment. Now the mills are mostly abandoned, poverty has hit pretty hard. Slumlords are pretty normal. There was a rash of fires in the mills a few years ago- some kids

I grew up in Brunswick and I wouldn’t classify it as a college town at all; it’s so sprawled out the school (which I actually went to for summer camp as a kid) is kind of secluded. Then again, I was there before the military base shutdown, so it might be a little different now.

Gendered time out chairs. What an age we live in.

Thank you for sharing this, although I wish I didn’t know this existed. You are 100% right: “In 18 years, these same kids will be the frat boys on the news demanding that they not be stereotyped and angrily typing #notallmen into my Twitter feed.”

Lewiston native, born and bred. Sitting in my living room, about 100 yards from Joe Dunne’s office. Your quick take on Bates was pretty spot on, there is a disconnect between the Batseys and the Townies, always has been. There are a couple of divey bars that cater to students and locals alike, but for the most part we

She is so conceded, and it is absolutely disgusting. It is not a laughing matter, and the fact that she does should make you really question her integrity. The numbers do not lie as you can see. She still has a large support group based on these numbers. However, some of the polls are from users that got paid by just

it’s still early in the election. I don’t think we have to resign ourselves to a candidate like Hillary.

I hope she doesn’t win. I really do. Can’t we do better than her?

A Jewish president in this country should pretty much explode the tiny heads of the far right conspiracy nutjobs already upset by Obama.

You guys... I think I’m in love with Bernie. I DGAF who knows it anymore!
