This idea will run into the same problem as eliminating ICE: it may very well be a good idea, but it’s so easy to spin the concept into zero border control. Not that we shouldn’t discuss the pros and cons.

It all sounds pretty cool, but.. $1,700?
While mustangs have low end grunt, no one’s rolling around at 1k rpms all day. But they could just be rounding down, as 1500-2000 is common ground.
It looks.. fine.. But it’s a convertible BMW two seater. Those of us that would rather buy a Miata are plebeians to this target audience.. It’ll be.. fine..
If this year isn’t real life, I suggest not looking at what the GOP is doing in the courts.. That shit will stick around like an STI..
Considering that Equifax has freely given my sensitive information away to who knows, I’d prefer less things in my life be based on my FICO score..
I’d put myself in that second basket. If the definition of any form of government was effective, it’d probably be the successful standard somewhere today. I’m guessing it’s a combination of different approaches, where the ground ‘rules’ establish the foundation, and parties debate the details and processes.
From the sound of it, that’s how events at this track roll. Rules are lax and not strictly enforced, so incentive to follow them is diminished. And then you end up with an officer pointing a gun and a race car driver that did no harm and wasn’t trying to cause harm, but looked quite different in the moment.
I wonder if his lawyers will argue that conspiracy is not a crime..
Bipartisanship and debt reduction are two worthy goals. Granted, the former is largely impossible with this republican party, and the latter is difficult with politicians in general. But when it splits into two, perhaps one will be more amenable..
There are plenty of people that should delete their twitter accounts. I’ll add Jeong to that list.
There’s a reason the owner isn’t going to strip and part the car for a profit, and I doubt it’s just time. $5k is usually my ‘eh, why not’ amount, and I bet the seller would go for that amount, but too much custom work on this thing is a big red flag..
Search ‘cost per mile to drive’. There’s a lot more to it than gas and insurance.. (I say this having just bought a new set of tires.)
Your neighbors didn’t put in the effort to be born rich. Can’t fix lazy..
That’s $600 a month in depreciation, repairs, maintenance, etc., just going to/from work.. That doesn’t seem trivial..
It does fall within a typical driver’s monthly mileage. But as someone that trains it into work, I do find it unreasonable. Lots of wasted cash..
Why would someone decide to lock into a situation where they have to drive 1500 miles a month?
I’m guessing the pedestrian-safety hood and lack of headlights are closely related, one causing the necessity of another..
4th: Most of the autonomous incidents I’ve read of have involved the operators watching their phones or tablets, haven’t they? It seems like if the people were paying attention, most of these wouldn’t have happened.. These systems will need lots and lots more experience on the road to fine tune the software, so…
Don’t like it? Don’t let the kid score.. That said, I don’t like it, but I don’t care to really care..
