Well as an IT sys admin I don’t think I’ll ever be gates community rich and regular residential neighbourhoods in my region only have to abide by municipal laws which already cover stuff like not leaving junk in front of your house and making sure you mow the lawn.

Well HOAs must be rare in my area kf the country so avoiding those isn’t hard. And commpn-sense rules are already municipally enforced.

See all of these common-sense things here are covered by municipal regulations already.

And that’s an extra reason for me to avoid allll of these.

Are HOAs an American thing? I’m Canadian and I have NEVER HEARD of such a thing in my region but I keep hearing enough horror stories about them in the US to convince me that it’s good we don’t have them.
