nailed it about RWD being more taxing, all the more reason why modern Ferraris and Mclarens need the electronics.

Yup I know that feeling. That example that happened in the winter was me taking an onramp at full throttle like an idiot while it's blistering cold out and shifting too aggressively from 2nd to 3rd at 62mph. The rear end snapped hard in one direction and then the stability control tried to catch it. It then swung hard…
"In the Miata, flappy paddles and traction control are electronic annoyances. In an F12, they're your guardian angels."
This tech would be insanely efficient in my home province of Quebec because our roads are so sh*tty we could likely envy some 3rd world countries.
Lets see: Mustang 32k, Mazda3 after loss taken on honda fit trade-in about 32k as well( O Canada!). 3K spent on an old beater civic including repairs. That's $67k in purchase price alone.
Good read as always and as others have said, good redemption to weekend drag racers!
Do it! That would be epic!
That's exactly why my Dad ended up with a full-size pickup(f-150) because the price and fuel economy difference between that and the smaller pickups was too small.
That's of course, for safety, since people still think of the phrase "Oh, the humanity" when you mention hydrogen, and the idea of a 10,000 PSI tank right under your kids' asses is nervy to many. Still, they've done exhaustive crash tests, and the incredibly thick steel walls and kevlar wrappings of the tanks have…
never claimed my experience was at anything else than slow speed. You can throw theoreticals out there as much as you want but reality involves so many other variables to the whole physics equasion that results may vary a lot.
Reliable in so long as they corrected the weak sway bar bushings from the current gen and the water pump on the V6 that likes to ebola itself at the 75000km mark. Thankfully the former was easily addressed with aftermarket parts. Otherwise I seriously have no complaints about my 2012 Mustang V6. In fact the solid rear…
Ride along with me next winter. Actually I'll try to get my go pro strapped on and repeat the process on purpose and upload it here.. These aren't high speed turns but just turning a corner. I should have specified. I have better things to do with my time than to claim stuff I can't actually do.
Here's my use of the e-brake: correct straight-line plowing when I'm trying to turn(and subsequently take said turn a little too fast) during a massive snowstorm up here in Canada. Specifically driving a FWD car. I've done it a few times in my now-gone Honda Fit and it's current replacement, the Mazda3. Definitely a…
Agreed! And nice choice! The top one is filled with kids and fartcanned cars with more bark than bite or rookies looking to get caught either smoking weed or "fogging up the windows" because they don't bother looking for better spots anyways so it means those other spots and lookouts are usually quiet.
@tokyoBayAquaLine author of number 3. Was that at Gatineau Park by any chance? Possibly at one of it's many lookouts?
Flamesuit is on: I've driven a 2013 GTI and honestly could not grasp what all the hype was all about with this car. It's not amazing at anything and definitely not at being fun. I drove it hard and... I was bored out of my mind. There's no drama, no excitement, no personality and no soul. It didn't even feel as fast…
I'd say Yamaha does it right with their Waverunner family of personal watercraft. My 180hp Yamaha VXR has two modes. Low-RPM mode which is great for the break-in, beginners and for saving fuel because it limits maximum RPM to about 5500ish and neuters the throttle so that it's less intense in throttle response (It has…
Crazy indeed. Gotta add that my car was actually an ice breaker for my current relationship of over two years. Also in your defense, you seem decently knowledgeable with regards to cars, more so at least than a lot of people I know so, kudos!
Don't beat yourself up over it. Though I admit I made none of the typical newbie mistakes on my first time ever at the strip, my driving was poor. 14.5 average with a best of 14.3@98mph in july 2012. And a god-aweful one second reaction time.
If the team wants to sound bad-ass I say Washington Honey-Badgers.
