Good points. What you (the automotive performance increaser) need is equipment and/or upgrades that are *appropriate* for your setup. Without increased airflow going in and through the engine, what could possibly be gained from a 3” exhaust pipe or cat delete?

Um... you know, my math could be off, but this Mustang only completed 2 rotations. It started on a third, but then the driver corrected out of it before it even turned 90°.

How about this one for the Okies — slowing down to 15MPH at the *bottom* of a hill does not make it easier or safer to get up to the top of it. Speed up slightly when going downhill so you have momentum - then if you use RWD you're much less likely to break traction when going up the hill!

I think that's the break-point. And one that not many people consider. You can get great fuel efficiency in terms of rotating the crankshaft while sitting at idle, but you're still getting ZERO [DistanceUnits] per [VolumeUnit], no matter how efficiently it's idling or becoming.

Another note, you probably know as a tech - modern vehicle computers have an open- and closed-loop operating mode in order to more efficiently use fuel when cold or warm.

Hear, hear! Keeping existing things working is a lot cheaper and more environmentally conservative than breaking them "early" with less-than-excellent maintenance. (I'm a conservative environmentalist. One of possibly two or three on earth...)

Or, in my case with some sort of non-rod knock taking place in the crankshaft, the more oil in the lower parts of the engine the better. Good thing I'm hopefully getting my other car back on the road this weekend!
