That's my ideal setup. Right down to the paint color.

Will the Nexus 4 ever be available on Google Play? The total silence from Google is not very encouraging. I want so badly to give them my money.

My copy of "I Will Teach You To Be Rich" by Ramit Sethi finally showed up at the library. I'm decently well versed in personal finance, but I have trouble putting these things into practice. Really looking forward to starting.

That's the joke.

I have a wheaten terrier, and when he stands on his hind legs or sits like a person on the couch, he looks like a freaky, hair covered child with black eyes. Also, an Ewok.

I'm doing the exact same thing with Arduino! I've progressed to running complex patterns with my LED's. I'm planning on building a CPU meter out of LED's on my breadboard, and then moving up to an analog meter. My ultimate goal is a UAV, same as you.

I think you're missing the point a bit. Let's take cars, for example. A kid whose dad takes him outside to learn how to change the oil is going to learn a lot more about the process than a guy who starts on pg 1 of the manual, reading everything about the car. The kid has practical knowledge, and will hopefully pursue

I like that Adam Savage is a proponent of project-based learning, rather than slowly learning the step by step basics. I just started putting a few of his tips into action, and I have a pretty good DIY'ed chessboard all finished up. I learned a lot, and it's piqued my interest into trying more projects.

YES.

Ain't that the truth. That fucking pointless horrible war.

Because the utility of money is different for people at different income levels. Take someone who makes $25,000 a year at tax them at 35%. After a flat tax, they are left with $16,250. But they only make $25,000 a year, so they need as much of that money as possible to cover their basic needs.

I'm glad this helps. I learned this only recently as a 26 year old grad student. That's a pretty sad indictment of our education here and elsewhere. It's really important.

I can definitely understand that frustration. I can also see frustration in a person who makes a sizeable amount of money being unable to reinvest a large portion of that through his or her own means. A person who makes 2,000,000 will have trouble starting a substantial small business because so much of their money is

Absolutely. The ability of high earners like Mitt Romney to swing middle class people in his favor over taxes is insane. This is because most people have no idea what their tax rates are, and how fully the rich are able to manipulate the system.

Thanks. It took a very specific class in my very specific field of study to actually learn this. I'm 26 years old. This stuff should be taught in every high school and college in America. Civics, and how government works is ridiculously important.

Thanks. They really need to start teaching civics in school again.

And I agree that this is probably not an entirely sustainable model for the globalized world. My main point is that most people know nothing about how and why their taxes are what they are, and that when past governments ran up large debts, they put in place systems to pay for them. We raised taxes after WWII because

Weird, because the United States tried very hard, and was very successful at building a large and productive middle class since the Great Depression with these very policies. Tax the extremely rich at a high marginal rate to pay for the education and social well being of people lower on the totem pole, so that they

Marginal tax rate. Marginal tax rate. Marginal tax rate. I'm not sure how France divides incomes, but: A marginal tax means that you pay taxes at the rates assigned for each income level. You are charged at the 20,000 rate for your first 20,000. As your income rises, you are charged at the next effective tax rate.

No!
