Pontiac is Dead; Saturn is still for sale; Opel is being bought by Fiat; Is there any good news coming from GM Lately? Well, at least it's better news than what's happening over at Chrysler.

The most Jalopnik of all cars, the Pacer. This is why all the other "mainstream" car blogs don't get it. The love of something from Kenosha, Wisconsin can never be explained.
About that Corvair entry, there will be NO problems with the fuel system with mine. There will also be next to no problems with the handling, since we performed an "engineered" fix with the rear end. I recently found out that Nissan "Z" car Rims (the 4 hole variety) fit perfectly, so we won't be sporting any 13…
Pop Quiz everyone. This model was created because of what foolhardy decision made by Chrysler in 1962?
The Pontiac advertisement illustrations were the work of Arthur Fitzpatrick, and Van Kaufman. The pair created one of the most memorable illustrated campaigns, having twelve-year run of stunning ads for Pontiac. Running from 1959 to 1971, Pontiac consciously chose illustration so that new Wide-Track advertisements…
Great, now I'll have even less time to complete the Corvair....
Am I the only one who would rock this Pontiac Sunbird? Well, not at $5,000, but man, it does look good for the year. Remember, these things rumbled into dust when new, sitting on dealer lots, so to have one that survived almost 30 years is amazing.
To everyone who wanted to be on this project, send Murilee an email, or leave me a private message here. Thanks...
@accept it, the global economy is hosed for a while: Then you should read my posts: The CarDomain Obscure Muscle Car Parking Lot. Here is a post on that very Grand Prix!
@wheels OF satan!: You know, I wasn't going to respond, but after reading your response again (and looking back at your response when I initially bought the car) the only appropriate response is: "Get Bent"
@BRAWNDO_POWERED: I love it. It's very Kitschy.
@accept it, the global economy is hosed for a while: Oh this has the telescoping wheel adjustment. You were commenting on the horn pad. Well, it looks like a ships wheel (at least I think so because piloting a 1960's Caddy is like piloting a ship!), well, that's the way you adjust the wheel, you twist the horn pad…
@Comrade ☠Grяrяrяrяrяrяrя reporting for duty!: Well, the interior was rather nice, got a good price for the seats, and the glass, and a real good rice for the original radio. Unfortunately, we can't race with a bench seat, or it would have stayed....
@Comrade ☠Grяrяrяrяrяrяrя reporting for duty!: I have chosen a team name that was suggested in one of these posts back in November. Team UDMan - Trailing Throttle Oversteer!
If anyone really want to know, this is a UD Truck under all the decoration.
@FuzzyPlushroomanyte: It came from Springfield, Vermont. I put an expired NH tag in the windshield so I could get AAA to tow it from my home to the shop where we are performing all the work.
Thanks Murilee for posting this.
@03SVT Peter Orosz's ONLY friend: Really, there is nothing I dislike about this version of the Mustang II. Padded Vinyl Roof; Check. Tufted Velour Seats; Check. Faux Woodgrain on the Instrument Panel; Check. German Built V-6; Check. T-Shift Automatic and center console; Check. Ghia badging; Check. The only thing…
@tomlewis: We have anti-blight laws in the town I live in. And it's not like I's a neat freak anyway. I have in the backyard: A boat on a trailer, a utility trailer, my camper, and the Corvair I'm getting ready for LeMons, along with my other boat in the garage. However, the lawn is neatly trimmed, weeds are kept…
Meh, nothing of any interest to me here. Yes they are engineering marvels, that are basically sterile. Look at the above images of these engine compartments.... sterile as a hospital operating room.
