X-Files pioneered the bullshit “Empty Puzzle Box” style of serialized storytelling that ruined other genre shows like Lost and BSG a decade later.

I never watched Lost, but as disappointing/bad as all the mysteries of BSG turned out to be, I wouldn’t say it was ruined. The destination was a drag, but the journey remains very enjoyable.

After the vitriolic pushback against her casting effectively *became* the story for a week or two, I imagine she might have really appreciated the love and enthusiasm on display in the cosplay pics.
