I think Germany is already doing this with stretches of the autobahn
I think Germany is already doing this with stretches of the autobahn
My experience after 45k miles with autopilot one is that it’s nice to have a second system backing you up and it does reduce fatigue on a long trip, making me feel a lot safer. Treat it like a teenager driving, it can do it, and it’s helpful but you’d better watch it.
But! It’s bad at communicating its own limits. If…
This headline sounds like my last performance review.
I’m kind of curious if we’ll see customers able to repeat this result.
could be they just got a ringer.
I’ve been waiting for someone to make a decent leaf swap kit. The battery’s have one foot in the grave but the rest of the powertrain is solid, and now there’s plenty of cheap sources o batteries.
I feel like i see these articles fairly regulartly but it seems like loan terms are just extending because cars just last a lot longer than they used to
Back in the 1980's we bought about as many cars as we do today with a population that was a quarter smaller.
So if it’s going to last longer it makes sense people…
Looking at the video it seems like he’s basically getting high centered on that middle axle, which is unloading the rear axle and causing it to lose traction. If both rears were engaged it’d have been fine.
yeah based on the $30k premium they’re likely asking for a EQC vs GLC, I wouldn’t be surprised if this thing is kissing $100k once you tick a few option boxes. I’m sure they’ll get takers but I’d be surprised if its a volume seller.
really we should just be getting cars out of cities. LA sprawl but electric and autonomous is still not that appealing but at least you can live in a cheap house in Bakersfield.
Since towing takes a lot of energy (basically cuts your range in half depending on the profile of the trailer) I think most trucks will go plugin hybrid pretty soon (think something like a Volt with 50 miles of EV range and a gas backup)
What we found out from the Volt is people ended up doing 70% of their miles on…
I already pair my phone to bluetooth and watch youtube videos when I’m waiting. Sometimes I put the phone up in the instrument binnacle so I don’t have to hold it. It works pretty well so I can see how this would be the next step.
Tesla’s data usage is gonna skyrocket though.
that would be so satisfying actually.
that makes me feel a bit better. I did the same with Tesla and it rubbed me the wrong way.
extending mini’s fun styling to larger vehicles is the thing I’m least “mad online” about. You can still get cooper, what’s the problem?
my theory on the i3 and i8 is that there were 3 programs floating around BMW looking for funding. An electric car program, a city car and a sports car. They glued them all together and managed to make the i brand but that was about as far as they could make it in the internal bureaucracy. Hence they’ve been left to…

Don’t expect much on the EV front if their CTO gets the promotion. He’s very skeptical of EVs himself.
NSX isn’t exactly flying off the lots despite epic engineering.
at this point there’s really no excuse for most cars not to have regenerative braking at a minimum.
