Also depends how the last owner treated it. I looked at an RX that was mechanically flawless yesterday but the previous owner had basically destroyed the interior and there was a lot of deferred maintenance.

This thing is in California, where gas is $3/ gallon.
new yes, but if you’re in the market for $8k landcruisers you’re probably not independently wealthy.
These get 12-15mpg so unless you’re not planning on putting many miles on it, even at $3/gallon it’s gonna hurt to fill this baby up.
Meanwhile, in Norway...
330e Lease is around $300 / month. Which is a lot less than what you’ll pay for even a 35k model 3.
yeah there are some good deals out there on hybrids / PHEVs and by ‘22 you’ll have a much better selection.
Lots of people waiting for Model 3 get Volts. If you’re a 2 car household a shorter range EV like an i3 is a great choice as well, and those are running $15k used now.
But yeah I’m kind of discouraging people from getting an EV right now. We’re at the cusp of a lot of new EVs launching in 2020-2021 so if you have a…
I think you’re going to be disappointed at least for the first couple years.
I’m not saying drop the extra 4k. I’m saying DONT stretch yourself to get a model 3 if it’s that much of a concern that you’re delaying a car purchase for a year to buy an absolute base model car. Especially when there’s cheaper EVs and PHEVs with similar or better range.
Heck you can get a used Model S for that money…
The payments aren’t that far apart. Depends on whether you want luxury or a CUV. Sadly there’s still not a lot of options if you want something with a plug.
Eh. a lot of that was wishful thinking but I did have a friend who was an independent contractor and managed to take a big writeoff on it.
I’ve met a few people waiting for the 35k car and I tell them to look at the eNiro instead. Although those will probably sell out quick (limited global production) and the CCS network is nowhere near supercharging. If that’s an issue get a bmw 330e
My guess is it won’t actually change much. since the incentives will…
I mean, at least I got a tour.
I literally picked my car up at the factory and the manufacturer charged me $1500 for delivery.
Superchargers are about 150 apart max to accomidate the lower range cars. There’s definitely some legs where you could skip one and make it to 250.
But if the chargers are only 150 apart you just do a shorter stop. Which is actually likely quicker anyway since your charge speed ramps down at high state of charge.…
I actually drove one of these with surprisingly low miles (roommate’s late grandfather’s car) and when they’re not totally clapped out the steering and suspension were a lot better than I was expecting. I mean still not a great handler but a lot less vague and bouncy than I’d have figured.
I’ve you’re doing 300 miles every day you’d probably save $30/day in gas or $10k / year.
This. if you’re not stopping for 30 minutes every 250 miles I’m not road tripping with you.
Considering traffic and weather, charging stops are within the margin of error for long road trips anyway (additional maybe 1 hour on 500 miles)
Unless one of those employees is on the federal reserve board I think he’s barking up the wrong tree.
Snow tires should be mandatory in the winter north of Kentucky
