reminds me of a story: I was driving hiway 17 thru the los gatos/campbell corridor and this hugely noisy engine could literally be felt in one’s viscera (I kid you not, it was literal and visceral) and suddenly a rather large motorcycle screams past everyone. I shake my head (and try to quell my shaken-up insides)

We were stuck in a construction zone and had a jackass swerving in and out, jumping over to the closed section of the road & generally being a jackass. He was finally ahead of a group of cars & really hit the hammer. Just as he did that the car came out of the median, he didn’t wait, he hit the lights before the guy

I’ve experienced this. It’s fantastic. Husband was driving and trying to get across three lanes of traffic to get into Express Lanes - it’s tricky and difficult and he was trying to do his best. Asshole gets pissy about it (didn’t cut him off, just drifted toward that lane before realizing someone was there - blind

I had a similar instance with a G35/7 coupe, who kept being an absolute dick to me on the highway.

About 40 years ago, I was driving a 2 lane rural highway in California that connects Bakersfield with 101, near the coast. I was westbound in a line of about 5 cars, going about 55. I wouldn’t have minded going faster, but it would have involved passing over a double-yellow line into oncoming eastbound traffic.

My highway Karma story:

Last summer, I’m driving my ‘67 Fury with no particular destination in mind. Four-lane divided highway. SUV behind me. I’m approaching an exit with an overpass, and I see a police car hiding in the shadow of said overpass. I make sure I’m not speeding. I don’t even brake, just let up on the gas a little. SUV swerves

Not karma, but more a sense of community for me some months back...

I had my moment a couple years ago.

I have a few of those.

Now if someone would just indict or impeach that orange POS inexplicably residing in the White House this year, a whole lot of us could enjoy the karma you describe...

Instant CARma is every winter when I watch jeep grand cherokees pass me aggressively on tight snowy roads... then see them 10 min later with their summer tires facing the sky. I do always stop to help though even if they have out of state plates.

I received similar Karma a few months back. Stuck in bumper to bumper traffic 1/2 mile from my exit and a lifted BroDozer F350 goes bombing by in the breakdown lane - followed 5 seconds later by a CHiPpie. It was effing glorious.

Tangent; how is it not mandatory for jalopnik writers to have a dash cam, especially while test-driving cars? I mean, half this site is posts with dash cam footage or advertorials about dash cams....

That is indeed a good feeling. I, and multiple other cars were tailgated and cut off by an extremely aggressive bro in a fairly new red Audi TT, as he swerved through heavy traffic. Less than 5 minutes down the highway, and there he was, pulled over and sulking as an officer was writing him a ticket.

I was driving a Mini and we all had to merge into one lane because of construction in the left. This woman in a Charger gunned it to try to close the gap as I was changing lanes, but ended up behind me anyway. She then got right on my bumper and started weaving side to side. Traffic was going like 20mph for forever

It must be a V6 Camaro thing because I was in NH a few years back heading to the Flume Gorge. Being in NH with MA plates hasn’t served me well in the past so I was going within highway tolerances of the speed limit. Additionally, signs were out saying officers ahead, construction, etc and this guy goes blowing by us

To me, this is not reveling in someone else’s misfortune.

but Clarkson says it is okay to overtake someone on the right this is America! As for why the Camaro didn’t slow down when a cop is behind him... he couldn’t see him.

Something good got passed up so they could pay licensing for The Emoji Movie. Sigh.
