I've done taekwondo for over 25 years. These types of demonstration kicks are pretty de riguer for the higher end demonstration teams. The breaking boards they use are special too. The boards are baked, so they break easier.
Although I don't doubt the fighting prowess of these girls, it seems to me those tiles are just very breakable. I'd like to have a crack at them myself!

Gabbi and Tyche , it seems this was literally a random call to throw an artists rule 63 of them into a comic, so its a fanception as they called it, a fan created a version of a character and the artist creates a version of THAT into the comic. She was quite ecstatic to see it apparently.

they refered to it as a "fanception". Apparently there is a fan who has a tumblr and has done stuff with gender swapped Gabe and Tycho calling them Gabbie and Tyche. I wouldn't doubt that there is a stab at ubisoft as well but it's not the first time they put a nod in their comics to others artwork.
