It's nice when things are common sense. There is talk over here about reducing screening for those who are HPV negative, not sure if there's enough evidence for that yet though.

In the UK you are generally not involved in the cervical screening programme if you have an intact hymen. It is possible to do a smear in a virgin but very, very, difficult and probably uncomfortable as hell.

I think with the current royal family they can't divorce the personal betrayal they felt at Edward's actions from abdication, even after such a long Reign.

I agree, George was a great King, and absolutely the better man.

It's amazing how oblivious you are to a lot of the smells though. The sense of smell improves sharply quickly after giving up. As an ex-smoker, and a doctor, it amazes me that I once smelled so bad, and that my patients think I can't tell they have been smoking! The smell hits you as soon as they come through the

Everything I have ever read about our monarchy suggests that Charles is dreading his ascension to the throne.

There were some in the UK a few years ago.

If you work for a Jehovah's witness, they can stop you from having blood transfusions on your insurance? If you work for a scientologist they can stipulate that you cannot have

Well, I would certainly agree that the safety of home birth is entirely dependant on having the appropriately trained and experience staff there supervising. More fool me for thinking that would go without saying.

But you'll be standing there - bifurcated!

Also, British Royal Society of Obstetricians supports home birth in the right circumstances.

I will need to find out if it is on here in the UK, thanks for the tip!

I am sorry the statistics are far, far more important than hundreds of scare stories on the internet.

I have always wondered this too.

You should wonder at the bounty of your womanly body regardless, I know I do, in fact, I may do it a bit now...

It is such a widely misunderstood proceedure. The NHS asks for a donation for US photos a pound, I think, which goes to the NICU. A nice thought I think.

Oh the joy of this scene!
