Hurray for the Caitlin love, surprised I had to go so far down the thread to find it.

My husband and I have everything shared too. I earn much more than he does, he does a bigger share of the childcare. We don't justify our spending to each other, because we are both responsible adults. I have recently cut down my more frivolous spending because I felt it was unnecessary and we have some big house…
You will not disparage Caitlin Moran in my prescence!
He appeared on a great Uk show called Never Mind the Buzzcocks, and was HILARIOUS, very funny and completely took the piss out of himself.
But porn is fine? I would have thought Playboy was not the publication for a devout scientologist. Is it only gay sex they don't like?
I agree, this is the last verse where she is meditating on the awfulness her life has become and is basically in despair. I have heard it sung angry at this point, rage against the dying of the light etc. But I think the despair/pathos is more appropriate to Fantine's journey, she is pretty passive at the end.
Can I get a moratorium on links to the Daily Mail too? They are the paper of evil.
We have it pretty good in Scotland too. I was never a SNP supporter (don't believe in independence) but by golly, they have protected us from a lot of the terrible stuff going on in England.
That is a real shame, you should investigate other practices in your area to see if they have a better system.
I would agree that there is sampling bias here.
That's really weird, the only type of contraception available without prescription in the UK is condoms, male and female type - so I don't understand how that was legal.
Nope, in the UK the age of competency is widely held to be 14, but a GP can prescribe contraceptives to women and girls of any age as long as he/she assesses the individual as competent. The youngest I have prescribed to is 13, already sexually active and smart enough to look after her own contraception.
I will check it out, thanks!
Basically all the equipment was brought with us, the (already cleaned thoroughly) van was completely draped inside with sterile drapes with a draped couch in the middle. It was very cool. It was a great service.
Same here in the UK,
They weren't even nice about it, it was definately a 'you shouldn't have because we don't like and have no need for this' so we are done.
I worked for a summer in fairly rural Kenya, in a hospital. I went one day with the obs/gyn doctor to do a clinic run into the VERY rural areas. (I got in to trouble for wearing trousers and there was surprise at the sight of a white person - rural.)
But most GPs provide access to the full range of contraceptive options.
For free access to contraception, most women see their GPs, usually this means an appointment once a year for the pill.
Every year my in-laws say 'you shouldn't have' when it comes to christmas, birthdays etc, so this year we didn't.
