Blu-ray speeds was a problem for the PS3. But the drives you'll find in the Xbox one and PS4 will be fast enough to run without the need of installs. The reason the Xbox one required installs was becaues of the DMR registration requirements not the blu-ray speeds.

That's kind of what happend and MS caved.

You forgot the part where the 360 can't play a game while it downloads, system level gameplay uploading, remote gameplay, ect.
