Since Fiat is spinning off Ferrari, Ford will attempt to buy it prior to the IPO. They will ultimately fail, therein getting their panties all in a wad and taking out their anger on Ferrari leading to world domination of the paddock.

For the major shows you get to see cars that are not on sale yet, or concepts, some of which are stunning (and probably will never be seen again).

For me, it's the one-stop shop aspect of it. It's a bitch getting around Chicago from one dealer to the next. Also makes you more likely to explore brands you might not typically.

What's there to understand? You have practically every car available for sale in one location and have the ability to check them out without being hounded by sales reps or get on anyone's lead list. If you're planning on car shopping and value your time, it's worth it.
