I wish that in the same study, they had asked whether the girls thought being fat was a bad thing (or, less leading, what do they think "fat" means). We're assuming that they're making the same connection we do, but FWIW, when I was that age, I thought being fat was a *good* thing. At that age for me, it seemed like

Awesome throwback. :)

Were that a note, it would totally belong on passiveaggressivenotes.com. :)

My state, Illinois, is stated on the GI site as having no restrictions. So yeah, I think the 50 number is contrived.

Actually, I'm pretty sure miscarriage is already a crime in LA, though you have to prove intent. At the very least, I know a bill was in the state legislature to make it a crime when I was in college there, and I think it passed.

I clicked on Illinois and the link said there are no restrictions on abortion as found in other states (e.g., no waiting periods, no bans on insurance coverage), though the federal rules still apply. So how in the world is LA the 50th state when my own state has none?

I was actually talking about both types separately, but I couldn't remember what the UHT milk was called. Thanks!

Or, it's just ultra-pasteurized. Ultra-pasteurized milk stays fresh for a long time. You can also buy U.P. milk in vacu-sealed containers that will keep on a shelf for years. It's perfect for me, as I occasionally like a bowl of cereal or need milk for baking but rarely use it otherwise.

Yes! Want! :)

I wish they'd had these back when I used pads. I think they're awesome. It's kind of like wearing patterned or cute undies...no one sees them but you at that age, but it makes you feel a little special knowing they're there, and a little happier to put them on in the morning.

What kills me is that these laws are doing nothing to stop well-educated and well-paid women from getting abortions. As the article adeptly points out, someone with money and the ability to take time off will be able to do this. That same person will probably be able to roll her eyes sufficiently at all of the

I draw a different conclusion. Specifically, that they *have* worked, and as such, we need to move to other awareness efforts.

Which of course doesn't meant that they actually prevented any illegal activity. Nor do we know for sure that any of this wouldn't have been found with the procedures that are normal for say, Canada, Japan, France...you know, the rest of the civilized world...as opposed to the invasive and (IMO) unconstitutional

I think it depends on where you fall in the size range. It seems like the people saying the compression isn't that great might be in the lower size range, whereas people in the higher size range (such as me and the author) are saying that we can barely breathe.

I wear the ones that are precisely the size the chart says for me, and it's a friggin' war to get in and out of them. As a result, I only wear them when it's a very formal situation and I'll be photographed.

ITA. There was a $70 blouse at Lane Bryant that I thought was faboo, but there was no effing way I was going to go hunt down a salesperson to get the big hook and sort through the rack five feet above my head for my size, only for me to try it on, discover that (like much of LB's stuff) it was badly sized or cut, and

Seconded. That's why I don't go to swing clubs any more.

There's a huge difference between something that is clearly an illustration and something that appears to be a photograph. I have no problem with stylized illustrations that show exaggerated or better-than-life features. I do have a problem when you make a real person's body seem impossibly "perfect" by removing

I'm plus size and I love sleeveless. Would be happy to meet you sometime. :)

I think the only way to resolve this is an immediate "hot or not" slideshow of 100+ penises of each variety in all stages of erectness. :)
