Those specs sound like my XPS 17, which looks like this:

Xbox does this, not the PS5.

I find a lot of people who say that either a) compare it to the live TV streaming packages that are available, which are usually $60+ a month or b) have subscribed to more streaming services than they actually need and/or don’t cancel them when not in use.

Are you referring to the external power cable? If so they’re standard (NEMA 5) as well. The only thing you really have to watch out for is the gauge, but most are 14 - 16 Gauge which can handle up to (I think) 1,800W. And if you’re actually using 1,800W then you’re probably running a server that uses a different type

I just moved into a home with electric heat from one that ran on gas, and it’s broken down every year since I’ve been there for some reason or another. My old gas furnace never had any of the issues you’ve mentioned, and only broke down once.

I suppose by marketing I was referring to how companies use Facebook for marketing. Poor phrasing on my part. My point there is whatever startup that hopes to compete with Facebook has to be able to give companies the same level of exposure out of the gate. I think the closest we saw was Google+, but unfortunately

Way back in the day when it first launched, Facebook was that better platform. Fast-forward almost 20 years and they’ve become what they set out to destroy. Kinda like how Google started with the “don’t be evil” slogan, only to become “evil”. And you’re right, creating an alternative doesn’t require capital but

What you’re describing isn’t “anti-competitive” though, in fact it’s just how business works. Especially today. Large company wants to get into a specific market quick, fast and in a hurry? Solution is to buy a smaller company already in that market. Amazon was probably going to start a diaper delivery company

Point of clarification, I don’t really give a shit. Nor do I believe I have a moral high ground. I really just wanted you to realize that buying them used shouldn’t make you feel any better, and it sounds like you already realize this, so my job is done here.

It’s still fruit from the poisoned tree, so buying them used isn’t any better.

They don’t see PCIe 4.0 NVME drives, they just see the words “external SSD” and immediately stop thinking and start complaining. They don’t realize that not all SSDs are made the same.

Is there a link in the article to this certain drive you speak of? Because this article just reads as a clarification on a post from Xbox Wire. Nowhere does it mention or provide a link to a specific hard drive. That said, I use an Ad-blocker, so maybe I can’t see it.

This was my first thought too. As someone who regularly cares for an elderly family member (who has given us a few scares recently), I’ve been thinking more and more about monitoring and cameras. Something like this would be perfect.

The SSDs aren’t proprietary. They’re standard NVME SSDs, the difference is they’re PCIe 4, which is brand new is still pretty expensive.

The PS5 seems designed for airflow in the way that the Xbox’s are not.

Why do people keep bringing up this argument. The name is moot. Come December you’ll only have two choices, the Series S or the Series X.

Probably more “Centrylink has no scale competitors”. CenturyLink “owns” a large portion of the internet backbone in the US (somewhere around 40 - 50%), so it makes sense that Cloudflare would want to put their eggs in that basket.

At this point it sounds like the only thing you’re getting by downloading Chrome is the Google integration. And if you don’t use those features then you may as well stick with Edge.

Most 1g plans here don’t have data caps, but they’re also close to $100 a month if not more. That and most people can’t even take advantage of those speeds with current infrastructure. One of my coworkers recently increased her plan at home to 1g, but at best she gets maybe 400 Mbps down. She only did it because with

Except only a small handful of people will remember Apple used the commercial, but a large majority know what 1984 was.
